Sigh this site is full of PSP haters..

No, you can't just understand that PSP won't sell like in its better days. Nothing can save it.

Leo-J is so quick to write off anybody who says anything negative about something he supports by painting them in extremes.

Don't like Lady Gaga? Sexist. Think that the PSP's sales aren't so great? Hater.

Well first of all nobody gives gaga chance.. they just right her off as shit, second of all I never said the PSP sales weren't bad, I'm just pointing out the ad campaign is great and that they are pushing the PSP.

no there are people that just don't care about the PSP here, don't even own one, don't even thing it ev en has games coming out for it..

The favorites line up is genius, and with the ad campaign it should push the PSP in the U.S.. saying it wont and that its a dead system is just not right.

and you don't go into Halo Reach threads and give negative views?

Face it Leo, it's easier to paint the PSP in a bad light at the moment, than a good light.

This adveritsing campaign isn't going to lift sales in America alone

How do we know? We don't have any data that says other wise.. all it can do is help..

btw: I go into the halo reach threads with people saying it is the best looking game ever made, and I disagreed.. hwo is that me pitting negative views?

Yeah and it will, but this isn't a radical change the PSP needs. & with already being on the shelf nearly 6 years it needs more than a new advertising campaign, especially since it has a new competitior on the way and a system the same age outselling it 2:1.

It's not being a hater to state the obvious, it's almost dead in the US.  It's almost as dead as the PS2, it might die first.  I own a PSP, i love the Japanese support but it is done in the US and an ad campaign isn't gonna change that.  Really nothing can change it at this point, it has had so many revisions already and dev support is quite low.  No point in selling it at a loss when nobody is buying software.  Japan was rewarded with a price cut because they actually bought software but that isn't happening elsewhere.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

sony is finally truely pushing the PSP though, it may not do much, but it's something

Whether or not the ad campaign is great isn't determined by whether you like it or not. That's subjective. What will make it great will be if PSP sales spike.

Until they do (or don't) we can't speak to the greatness of the ads.

And of course it's unrelated, but yeah, maybe a lot of people don't give Gaga a chance...but plenty of people who can admit she has flaws do give her a chance. They just have a broader musical perspective and can regonise her as not being as peerlessly genre-bending and groundbreaking as you seem to think she is. Again: you take things to extremes.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Oh wow I know I'm not one to talk about derailing threads but can we not turn this into Lady Gaga argument #224324 please

Why sony are still trying with the PSP when the 3DS is comming out is beyond me.

They should just bring out a new handheld as soon as possible

Agreed.

Sorry for bad English.

I thought the commercial was pretty cool.  I'm not a big fan of the kid but I like Kevin Butler.  As for the PSP, I think they need to drop the price to at least $129.99 for the PSP 3000 and $169.99 for the PSP Go and then advertise the price drop for it to take effect.
