Analyst Shmanalyst. No way will it be more than 200$.
Originally I expected it to be out this holiday. The only reason for Nintendo to delay the launch could be 3rd party software, but we don't know when developers started working on their titles. Less than a year could be too short to deliver properly polished games.

It was a trap. When Nintendo realizes it, it will be too late.

| cAPSLOCK said: It's not going to be $249.99. Why would Nintendo pull a Sony and kill their own handheld right out of the gate? $199.99 at the absolute most. |
nintendo has never taken a loss when selling a handheld.. the 3D tech pushed into the 3DS is very advanced.. I think $199 may be a little low

When people say it'll be $199 is it wishful thinking or a Nintendo strategy?
It sounds like they can charge whatever they want for it and people will buy it.
I think it would sell well at $250-$299
I don't care if it cost $400 dollars. I'll send Nintendo my entire paycheck for this thing.

The answer about people willing to work more hours to buy it made me topple from the chair!

I think it will be ≤ 200$/€ because: More would be too much! Nintendo's handhelds have never been more than 200$/€, and that's one reason for their success. It's still toy, after all, and parents are supposed to buy it for their kids, to play Nintendogs and all.
What's more, I don't think 3DS will be THAT expensive to produce. The graphics are roughly on GC level, and they sold the GC for 100$/€ six years ago. Even the 3D display won't be overly expensive, considering the amount Nintendo is going to buy.
So, if they're wise, they are going to stick to their tradition. Nintendo has never had a high entry price point, especially with their handhelds.

This generation and next generation has been the GameCube revenge.
