So far the smartest game this gen is Zack & Wiki, a game which most definately did not get a mature rating.

Hmm, Portal gives it very good compeition for that role.

Agreed, but Portal is rated Teen too.  Mature ESRB ratings hardly make a game Mature.  That's not to say that there aren't mature and witty M-Rated games, but the M rating itself does not make a game mature.  Manhunt 2 is one of the most immature games I've ever seen.

I have to agree with that.

Video games were intended for children, not adults.

 Wrong. You're Wrong. Wrrrrrrrrrooooong.

WRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGG..

Where is it said anywhere that games were meant for children?

Also - as said plenty of times above - a 'mature' tag does not equal a mature game. Infact in a majority of cases it has the most immature content you could get.

I'd say the Wii has a huge ammount of mature titles. By mature I mean a title able to capture the minds and imaginations of young and old gamers alike with no differentiation in between. Someone above pointed out Zack & Wiki - I'd say Super Mario Galaxy has mature gameplay nailed, I'd also add Super Monkey Ball, Wii Sports and a few other games like it.

Violence, coarse language, sexual content and general profanity and vulgarity does NOT equal maturity.

When will people learn...

Violence =/= maturity

Equivocation:

using a word to mean one thing, and then later using it to mean something different. For example, sometimes "Free software" costs nothing, and sometimes it is without restrictions. Some examples:

"The sign said 'fine for parking here', and since it was fine, I parked there."

All trees have bark.
All dogs bark.
Therefore, all dogs are trees.

"Consider that two wrongs never make a right, but that three lefts do."
- "Deteriorata", National Lampoon

I'd like anyone who thinks Nintendo must be kiddy to think about that and then reassess their argument.

What are you trying to say? I don't get the symbol thing.

=/= means 'not equal to'

E games are the majority of games bought, so they should be the majority holder of the games on your platform. But I think all 3 are taking it to far extremes.

Man...I didn't think this many people were confused about ESRB ratings.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

^^Like I said before the only reason I named the title what i named it is because Joystiq were the ones saying the Wii was immature, maybe I should of specify that in some way.
