Forums - Microsoft - Is this still the Year for Xbox 360?

The hardware sales & motion control battles are lost to Ninty & Sony, imo. They're not going for Sony's jugulars in regards to pricing like I thought they would. That's not to say MS won't be successful with the Slim/Kinect rebranding.

The games are the juicy goodness for me and it's better than the PS3 & Wii lineups this year.

It is the year of Halo:Reach.

The redesigned Xbox (Cannot call it a slim because well it isnt) and the games should see them comfortably through the year but it will be Kinect that would secure them a true win and the jury is still out. We are still waiting on price and the Ad campaign that will go with the launch.

Get the Ad campaign sorted and maybe work on the price (closer to $100 the better) and they could have a winner. Afte all it has to appeal to both old and new Xboxers.

Well a lot of retailers in my area have been advertising it as the Xbox 360 S.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

It's opinion and depends on your personal taste. For me it never was the year of the 360. I still have to buy Mass Effect 2, but expect for that nothing really interests me.

Exact same response.

If we talk about America only, Kinect and all the rest could even be enough to make 2010 XB360's year (particularly if we widen the concept to just being first for a long enough period even remaining second behind Wii for the whole year). WW less likely, it could almost tie in others, then Japan would be decisive to keep it behind PS3. But some weeks 1st also WW isn't totally unlikely, each console (well, Wii quite obviously, not being 1st is the exception, not the rule) this year has some weeks when it could be 1st.
