Ahem. You're talking to a core PC fan. I own all the Fallout games except Fallout Tactics. I loved Fallout 3 except for GFWL. The game itself was very good and the user mods were highly impressive to the point where the modding community is still quite strong on Fallout 3. It's a very different experience to Fallout 2 and some will prefer Fallout 2 to 3, but definately not all. Whilst it may have been designed with consoles in mind, it retained some of the aspects that make PC gaming great, namely, the user mods. On the first point, it's true that hardcore PC gamers aren't as prevalent as console gamers on this site, but I get the distinct impression a lot of gamers are both. A number of the Wii owners on this site for instance also game on PC because the Wii is a completely seperate experience to PC. Whilst they may game predominantly on one console, they also own a PC and will play games on PC. PC is the one machine nearly everyone on the site owns, so even if it isn't their primary gaming device, if a game they want to play is available on PC and they don't own a 360, they'll play it on PC. Just because people aren't talking about it doesn't mean people don't own and play on it. Also, a lot of the threads are popular due to the console wars which PC really isn't part of. If you took that fanboy fodder out of the forums then the Hot Topics would be a lot quieter (& more civilised, lol) and I think you'd see a lot of threads about multiplat games on 360/PS3/PC. |
So what you're saying is people on this site with a wii and pc, a ps3 and pc, as well as people who game on a pc only may choose to get the game on the pc and combined they might outnumber the people who are going to get it on the 360. Ok that is very possible.
Although practically everyone owns a pc I question how many people actually own one capable of running modern games I wish I could find some reliable data on that. I know dozens of console gamers and out of all of them I'm the only one with a pc capable of running modern games like dragon age origins and bioshock 2.
And you're 100% correct about the fanboy fodder lol

Those are good reasons but I noticed in your game collection you do own fable 2. Do you not care about carrying your game save from fable 2 over to fable 3?

no not really, game saves have never really been omg must have, and no i don't actually own fable 2, I had only rented it, due to benig annoyed at spending a full game price on fable 1 and it being so dang short. Fable games are short enough to beat in a rent easy. hmm thinking of that maybe i'll just rent this one as well.

Ok well do what makes you happy. I also noticed that you have mass effect and cod 4 in your 360 collection instead of the better pc versions of those games and all of your pc games seem to be really old. Do you have a pc capable of running fable 3 and other modern games with decent fps at an hd resolution?
Edit) I just saw dragon age origins on your list nevermind.
I am not buying this since Fable 1 was an extremely meh experience and Fable 2 even moreso, and it was buggy. I haven't seen Molyneux release a game that wasn't thoroughly mediocre since Dungeon Keeper and I highly doubt Fable 3 will be any different.
Though if I was going to buy it would obviously be on the PC. It's 100% guarnatee that it will look and run better and in the off chance they don't get lazy, but they will, and have a true PC experience then I might even get it.

well most of my games on list aren't owned, its just if you have played say halo 3, cod 4, ect for hundreds of hours on someone elses console, be a roomate or friend you kind of have right to put it down. I put a game down, not on ownage, but on I have knowledge about it and am able to talk about it and not some unknowlegable biased person regarding said game. mass effect i would have bought for pc, but my roomate bought it for the 360 before me, so why waste money right.
but yea my pc is fine to play these high tech new games. speaking of which i am so pumped for witcher 2 right now.

Yeah the witcher 2 is going to be great the original witcher is one of the reasons I have a pc that's capable of gaming even though I primarily game on consoles. Dragon Age Origins is the other reason and I'm looking for to that sequel as well.

ha speaking of dragon age, how pathetic is that new dlc.
I mean really, we already know how that story goes. Lilliana told us in her little side character background story, and we got the conclusion for it.

Yeah I haven't even bothered to buy any of the dlc for the game this newest one isn't going to change my mind. Have you tried the Awakening expansion pack it got decent reviews but I haven't tried it yet?
