If I'm not mistaken, the first game was barely above average. I didn't know graphics had so much on how a game is received.

Graphics tell alot about a games budget. More budget means a bigger risk, so the fact it looks good is a big sign or almost a guarantee for a good game because of the risk. Good presentation is very important! The best way to present your game is either with great art-style or great visuals. That's what makes AAA games stand out of the crowd.

The first Killzone was a good game too. But there is a huge difference between a good game and a killer app. Loads of games this generation have high production values, beautiful graphics, and high budgets. But as with last generation, only  a handful of these games have been AAA titles. As I recall, Killzone 1 actually had a lot of production values, and hype. It was also a good game. But it wasn't a killer app. I see no reason to believe this game will be any different....yet.

the original sold very well in Europe and it was a computer game at the beginning and was quickly ported over to the ps2 and the game has received positive feedback from E3 not to mention that the game had alot of controversy since e3 05 because of the CGI trailer and its phenomenal to even say this game comes close to that trailer so thats why the game is heavily hyped and will be important for the ps3s future

I hope I get in the beta in 2008. That would be sweet.

I'll take the case!!!

I think it's becoming more of a "crysis-killer" now...

cus PS-fanboys have decided in their minds that Halo 3 was crap....

 You dont have to be a fanboy to see a game missing its potential by a HELL of a lot. Halo 3, personally, was an average game saved by good multiplayer, but a game carrying that much hype should have been fantastic but microsoft wanted to milk it for as much as they could and therefore we all lost out.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I don't think we can say much without much, if any at all, previews from third party people.

KillZone 2 is a killer app because it needs to be. Plain and simple... PS3 needs this.

@darth'

the campaign was crap. All the reviewers were paid to give it a 9.5+ that I know for certain.

KZ2 is different you cannot compare the first killzone and the 2nd. The first was boring piece of crap, the 2nd is not boring but interesting.

I dont think Sony should focus on FPS games to be a killer app. I dont even know why they are focusing so much on it now because thats not what made them so popular in the first place. The X360 is home to most FPS fans. They should prioritize on Jrpg's, fighting games, and other japanese studio games that made them so popular in the first place. Where are all the great anime games they used to have?
