Forums - Nintendo - Will Nintendo take note?

Nintendo this year gave us Donkey Kong, Kirby , Zelda and Kid Icarus. Fans have gone nuts and Nintendo has no doubt owned E3. I also noticed that Cammie was nowhere to be seen, does she still work for Nintendo? Or did Nintendo just realize that fans just didn't like her that much?

With so much support this year for Nintendo I have to wonder if Nintendo has realized it needs to bring its core franchises to the table each year in order to ward off the competition. Sure the 3DS is coming this year but if it wasn't their would still be Kirby , Donkey Kong Country and Zelda and lets not forget Nintendo probubly would have shown Pikmin3. The show would have still owned E3.

So now that Nintendo has managed to dominate E3 once again you have to wonder, will Nintendo repeate this success next year?

No. This year, Nintendo won over its next 5 years.

Cammie was hosting the E3 network on Nintendo's official live feed, introducing it briefly and then afterward introducing some developer comments and Iwata Asks.

So presumably yes, they realized she's not a fan-favorite.

I have been following e3 for years now and this is the best one I have ever seen a company have.

The new hardware of the 3ds was the talk of the show.  New hardware always creates a lot of buzz at e3 so unless Nintendo shows the Wii successor as well as next gen home console games for the system that blows everyone away I don't believe Nintendo will be able to top this e3 next year.

I've been following E3 for the last decade pretty much. I'd have to say that E3 2006 took the cake. I have never seen any show as good as that one including this years. Nintendo showed a heck of alot more software for the Wii at its unvieling then they did for 3DS at its unvieling.

E3 2006 for Nintendo was ok.  They had already showed what the Wii hardware looked like at the previous e3 so the excitement from that was gone.  Their big core launch title was Zelda twilight princess a game that had been delayed numerous times on the gamecube.  People were unsure of if motion controls would work with titles like Metroid and Mario and intial third party offerings were sparce.  So most people had mixed feelings.  The ds stuff was excellent though.

At this e3 they showed and announced great software for 3 systems.  They showed golden sun and dragon quest 9 on the ds.  On the 3ds they showed kid icarus at the conference but the most impressive thing was their list of third party support and the games that were shown for the system later in e3 Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Splinter Cell, Kingdom Hearts, Starfox, Zelda ocarina of time, Super Street Fighter 4 etc.  Also just listing the features of the new system makes you realize that this is the most ambitious Nintendo system ever created.

For the Wii this year there was Zelda Skyward Sword, Metroid other M, Epic Mickey, Donkey Kong, Golden eye, Kirby etc

Nintendo was impressive across 3 platforms in 2010 while in 2006 I say they were impressive with the ds but they weren't that impressive with the Wii because in the early stages it looked like most games could be done on the gamecube and they just had motion controls tacked on.  No one is going to say that the 3ds is just a ds with 3d tacked on.

If you watched the presentation from 'e3.nintendo.com', once they shifted to everyone being able to demo the 3DS and Zelda game, it cut to her to talk about other stuff and what to expect from Nintendo over the next few days.

Basically, she was moved to a non-stage appearance.

i can't call  a winner (Sony v Nintendo) E3 2010 but i did enjoy the two. nintendo showed that support in your software is the Key to succee not buying timed exclusives. im proud of nintendo for doing just that.
