Forums - Microsoft - New Xbox 360 Slim - 1 Year Warranty (Not 3!)

MS must be confident now that RROD is no longer an issue now, and they have shown it with now only including a one year limited warranty as standard: http://www.game.co.uk/The-New-Xbox-360-250GB/~r349710/

So what if it's not 3 years? The only reason they extended the warranty to 3 years on original xbox 360 is because RROD problem, in fact it would only cover RROD after 1 year. If they're bringing it back down to 1 years, they know RROD is eliminated and I'm happy.

this is good news not bad ones , the hardware must be very reliable now :)

The warantee is only 1 year now, it is only 3 years for RRoD, if you get the E74 error after 1 year, you still have to pay

its always been a 1 year warranty.

the three year warranty is only for rrod and e74.

Where has anyone said it was bad news? I believe this is right for MS because they probably got the RROD levels down to industry failure standards with there last chip revision.

The failure rate has supposedly been normal since Jasper. Still, this is a new form factor and motherbolard, reliability is an unknown imo.

I guess they probably feel they've learned enough now to eliminate RROD in a brand new redesign.

Why would the reliability be anything less than normal then? You actually think they shot for something more unreliable than Jasper?

You make it sound like it was a feature they can finally eliminate.
