The Xbox 360 slim will not steal Sony's thunder because the price is still 299 and the demand just isn't there. They haven't showed any new games....so no, Sony has nothing to worry about. In fact after Microsofts E3 I can see Sony closing the gap even more in 2011.

There is nothing to fear but fear itself

Nope, because with Kinect the 360 is effectively recieving a price hike.  From now until the Fall we'll only have a $299 slim once the old SKUs are cleared out, and come Fall they'll only have the $299 and $399 Kinect bundles as far as I know.

They're throwing away their $199 price point on the notion that Kinect will give them a significant boost in demand.  They've effectively handed Sony second place, provided Sony doesn't do something equally as silly

Microsoft will have a nice bump in sales in the near term, however, thanks to the price drops on their old models.

Well I expect the redesigned xbox 360 to outsell the ps3 by a good margin for a couple of months due to the excitement that redesigned hardware causes.  If it only lasts for a few months then sony will be fine but if the 360 sales continue to be above the ps3 longer than than 2 or 3 months then sony may be in trouble.

Lol a re-model with no price drop won't change anything. Sony couldn't care less.

This and the comment below SaviorX about the Sly Cooper HD remakes.  Twisted Metal, Sly Cooper remake, inFamous 2, Little Big Planet 2, Killzone 3, exclusive content on a shitload of multiplats and MORE KEVIN BUTLER.  And some say Sony didn't have a good E3.  XD

No, because Microsoft flubbed it with $299.  Now Sony can totally counter and dominate by announcing a $199 120GB.

Do you know how hard that would be since they just lowered the price by $100 last year?  I could possible see $50 price cut but a $100 price cut would be ridiculous and Sony would once again go to massively losing money for each console sold.

Out of all the people that make comments like that, yours are the ones that annoy me the most.  ..........Where is Skittles when you need him?  "Come here Skittles."  XD

No, Sony is now getting a lot more revenue from its PSN Plus service, which gives it more cash to spend to run the business.  More revenue gives you a bigger chance to beat the other guy; standard RTS strategy here.

Also, Steamworks is coming to the PS3 and this won't simply add people that want Steamworks to the PS3 brand.  The Steamworks kinds of users are more technologically proficient than hte average gamer, and are probably more influential as to what brands are better, so the PS3 is now going to get the elites of the gamer world on its side.

The PS3 did well this E3 don't worry about it.

I dont think Sony had too much to worry about.

1) Sony is selling a lot more world wide than MS; I dont see the slim narrowing that margin too much.

2) Kinect is gettin gsome bad press already. Unless MS has some seriously good software for it I think it will be a flop. And judging by the software I already saw for kinect, they dont have anything decent.

This is not an exit.
