Forums - Microsoft - Current 360 being phased out, SLIM will be the only model on the market

I might actually be buying the new console,  I am really starting to like the way it looks and love the idea of the wireless N built in.  I would just have to find someone to buy my 360 for a reasonable price.

One question though,  will this model have the 3 year warranty on it or is that only the old model?

This is a very good question...I would like to know too.

Correction for the OP.  Sounds like the Arcade WILL be replaced with details forthcoming:

Didn't the 3 year warranty come into being on the back of RROD?  If so then surely MS would want to slip back to normal warranty levels with the new model?  Or perhaps they'll stick with 3 years to prevent any chance of hesitation of stigma of the new console from the old.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Remember the 3 year warranty is simply on RRoD and E74. I am sure that the new 360 has been very throughly tested for these issues. With that in mind I suspect for goodwill they will continue to offer that warranty, but not expect much use of it.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

if i get a slim 360 would i be able to transfer all of my data from my current 360 to the slim model?

I would assume so as I pointed out above. Probably built in WiFi and maybe a small HDD.
