anyone???

I don't see it as a price hike. M$ WiFi is $100 by itself, so integrating it into the console is what made it stay at the same price. Otherwise it'd be $199.

They wouldn't sabotage their own proprietary products. At least, that's my theory. Why else would you release a slim model (meaning lowered manufacturing cost that SHOULD be passed to the consumer since your competition is consistently outselling you) and not lower the price?

Currently playing:

Unreal Tournament 3, Warhawk, Rock Band, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII, DMC2, then 3, and Radiata Stories

"Stop the presses// It's been a while but I'm back in session// And in the past time my flow's matured more than adolescence// It's time to learn a lesson// So get you pen and your pad out, listen close, and take heed to this blessing"

Where did you see $399? I've only seen $299.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

The glossy black finish alone sold me but with additionaly wifi N capability, 2 or 3 more USB port, 250HD, extra quiet etc. Price Hike? NO!  are you planning to buy one or you just feel like bashing xbox 360?

There is no 399 console at the moment... You've been on about this since yesterday. check your local stores pricing...

There is no price hike

There is no 360 set to sell at 399

The only slim 360 mentioned so far is the 250GB one that will cost 299, which is the exact price of the Elite.

Saying it with any spins, yes. There was an Arcade version for $199 and now there won't be anymore for a few months. A new Arcade or whatever they decide to call their new entry model is coming before the holidays for sure though.

However, the remaining Elite and Slim version features a lot of cool features the original X360 didn't have, like a glossy finish, more USB ports, touch sensitive buttons, consumes even less power and it is smaller.

All these features put together plus the new product felling and the upcoming Kinect release that make Microsoft believe the X360 can be competitive at $299. Even if they sell less X360s than otherwise would be, the profits will be much bigger.
