Why is anyone expecting MS to cater to the "hardcore" when they already have that demographic (COD/Halo teens) on lockdown? Unless you mean hardcore as in small pockets of niche gamers that don't amount to shit. They will follow the money as everyone is doing. Laugh all you want, Wii got the same shit and it prints money.

Everyone who tries to copy Wii motion controls will fail. The wii success story can not be copied. Just like Blizzards WoW where all copycats failed to recreate WoW's great success!
Casual games don't buy many games and from what I've seen they always look for something new & cool. Hardcore games is where the money is and where you can sell the same sort of game again an again!

well i thought the reason they had 2 conferences was because they wanted to balance the hardcore and core presentations. I mean sure they showed halo reach, gears 3, and fable 3 but i wanted to be surprised by microsoft like the year before. Something huge like maybe a GTA5 annoucement or something. I guess microsoft showed the hardcore stuff but their main tarket was kinect and wii sports like games.
