Forums - Nintendo - Official Nintendo E3 2010 Press Conference Thread

Zelda controls... uh. Hopefully that will work as it should when it is released.

Overall very good conference. For now things look like this for me: MS -> good conference, Nintendo -> very good conference. Now Sony, give me an awesome conference and I'm happy.

2012 - Top 3 [so far]

no price on the new 3DS, weird.

Price obviously wasn't one of the big selling points of the device, much like Kinect.

I'm guessing the strategy is to drum up as much consumer interest in the device as possible, making it into a "must buy" item before releasing the MSRP.

IMO, a high price tag is about the only thing that could hurt the 3DS launch.

It wasn't bad.  It could be considered to be a bit too kiddie and retro.  It is nice to see a new 2d / 3d Metroid on the way, though I've seen some magazine previews that say that it doesn't control that well, and a new Kid Icarus for 3DS.

I didn't think Zelda looked all that impressive.  It wasn't any more hardcore in appearance than past Zelda games.  And do we really want to stand up and fling our arms around for 40 hours to control a deep action adventure / puzzle game?  It's always much easier to play such games with a traditional controller.  And trying to take these types of games that work just fine with a traditional controller and make them too much work to really be fun is one of the current gen's pratfalls.

I'm not sure what to think of the new DKC game.  That one and Kirby just look like attempts to cash in on NSMBWii sales to me.

Thankfully there wasn't any mention of the Vitality Sensor or an appearance by Cammy Dunaway.

Golden Eye's graphics don't look anywhere near as impressive as Gears of War 3, Halo:  Reach, or Call of Duty:  Black Ops.

Still it could have been much worse.  There wasn't anything as atrocious as their Wii Music presentation from E3 2008 or Microsoft's Kinect presentation this year.

Still, Sony should be considering the door to be very much wide open for them this year at this point in time.

Can I have the time scooter that lets you travel back to 2007?

For me (Never in a thousand years would I ever have thought I'd say this) Zelda was the low point of the conference.

I don't know, the graphics look very unpolished and i'm not to keen on the style. But they still have a while to work on it so we shall see.

i'm sad to say that i agree

i thought Epic Mickey, Donkey Kong, Kirby and the new Kid Icarus all looked much better and had better graphic styles

Zelda looked REALLY unpolished in my opnion :(

Hence the 2011 release date. lol

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

The  coverage on http://e3.nintendo.com/ is really interesting. Lots of  Zelda footage.

Also TLS and Xenoblade aren't neccesarily big name franchises, right now they are just jrpg. I doubt those games would have received much claps.

This was awesome, not only because of the "casual gaming" not being shown much because I can go with that, so many big franchise games were shown and 3DS . Also was just a fun show, those 3DS commercials were funny.

He-he, "hardcore" Nintendo showing was smooth ^_^ aside from Zelda hiccup, of course, (but they didn't put that big stress at it anyways, not a Zelda I was hoping for, that may resonate with audience like NSMBWii did). Not sure I liked it much, I was eager to hear more about Vitality Sensor (maybe they'll reveal it later this year?). To those who're looking for TLS and Xenoblade, I guess, you should wait till TGS.

Nintendo don't go to TGS. We'll see something about TLS soon, but what about Xenoblade's localization?

Just because Nintendo doesn't go to TGS doesn't mean TLS won't be there.  Mistwalker is still an independent company and they can still choose to show off the title there if they wanted to like they did with blue dragon and lost odyssey before.

only thing that interested me was zelda...but it was broken...even before the part where he tried blaming the wireless.  he was trying to do shit and it either wasnt doing it or doing something competely different. of course,  that was to be expected after he mentioned it being modeled after the swordplay from wii sports resort.  im really angry right now.

and although they dont interest me...i thought both the mickey game and the kirby game looked good.  nothing else however.

It was more like that AND the flash and other light sources fucking with it. It'd prolly work fine in our homes.

im not talking about when it started doing wierd shit, which it clearly could have been the wiimote acting retarded... ive had stuff like that happen before.  im talking just like when he was trying swing the sword and it wasnt working.

Maybe...but I have a feeling that the articles detailing the game on the show floor will all be positive.

How come no realese date or pricing for the 3ds ?

9/10

If they hadn't screwed up the attempted epic Zelda reveal it could've been a 10. It was painful to watch Miyamoto struggle to play his own game. Trailer wasn't too impressive either.
