Forums - Microsoft - Kinect Sports developed by Rare

CVG

Rare made the flagship sports game for Microsoft's Kinect, CVG has been informed.

The title was demo'd for the first time in Los Angeles today, at Microsoft's rather bizarre 'Experience' E3 event.

As revealed earlier, Kinect Sports boasts six activities including boxing, bowling, beach volleyball, track and field, football and table tennis.

To serve a volleyball, you mimic the real motion; in football, you can kick the ball or do a header.

Whilst busy making Kinect titles, Rare has told CVG that it isn't involved in Activision's rumoured new GoldenEye title for Wii.

Well, that solves the mystery of what they've been working on.  Or at least part of the mystery.  I wonder if they'll announce any other games at the press conference in a few hours.

Letdown.

I still have hopes for a new Banjo though!

It's not disruptive to copy success.

Pixel Art can be fun.

And here I though MS was *slightly* more original and innovative than Sony...

i saw an AFP article earlier that referred to the kinect event as "magical"...i would guess that they better serve microsofts target market than some of the "gaming journalists"  that have given poor comments about it.

Microsoft is unable to make 12 sports like WSR? Yes better graphics but less sports and bigger price (WSR Wiimote = 80$, Kinect the game likely over 100$)!

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

Boxing? Bowling? Table tennis? Hmm, now where have I seen those before...

Yawn.
