From what I've seen in a nutshell:

Product blows, Games blow, will most likely still sell well.

I'm willing to bet that it won't, and price is only one part of it.

Price, and word of mouth are going to be against it no doubt, but I still think that with Microsoft likely to exaggerate its benefits in massive advertising pushes and with the new Xbox model giving a fresh approach, the casuals will buy it. Also with MS, price is flexible, though investors aren't going to be happy if this leads to more losses.

However, it won't be a competition killer or anything like that. Sony, and especially Nintendo have so many more tricks they could play up their sleeves.

One thing I think for sure though, is that Kinect is going to sell terribly among current Xbox owners. Microsoft has to somehow grab some of Nintendo's market - a market that Nintendo has pretty tightly locked down.

is there a link where I can see these gif's in context?  the full show... rather than in these clips?  you HAVE to see them in the full show to really know if its rigged.

Here you go sir, I hope you enjoy it, I will begin watching it now myself

Edit: Oka that was obviously prerecorded and also awful in a lot of ways

360 price cut and kinetic bundles for 299$ is possible.

Can someone tell me if that's a lot of lag, added on top of TV lag?

It's on the upper end of the lag that controller games have (see table at the bottom of this article):

I don't know if motion control makes the lag more or less annoying. I'm pretty sure 150 ms would be quite annoying for a game like Guitar Hero.

Most 30 FPS games have about 100ms of lag (not counting lag from the TV), but others have more. Killzone 2 has 150ms for example. Depending on the game, 150ms shouldn't be much of a problem, though some games demand very fast response (Guitar Hero for example), and this simply wouldn't work without compromising the gameplay.

I see.

One of the problems here is that I can move my thumb a lot faster than I move my arms, so the feel of lag might be magnified as compared to a controller game - just like it's sometimes magnified with the Wiimote in somthing like Twilight Princess.

Wish there was a way I could play with the Kinect and get a feel for it.

Ok look at this, I'm very disappointed in this Star Wars game, it was gonna be the thing that would make me go out and buy this because its been a dream to control a light saber like that!

But I'll give them the benefit of doubt because its probably in an alpha stage, the final version should work much better, but they shouldn't have shown it like this then.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Wow, I can't believe the negativity over the event.  Every description, especially those that seemed to hate the event, sounded awesome.  Hopefully, the editted TV show will go over well.  It is obvious that most of the attendees had no clue about a Cirque show.

The games they showed last year are probably working now, so maybe this one will work in a year.

Anyway I'm quite curious about what we'll see at the MS conference today.
