I think it looks neither cool, nor uncool. It's not ugly or pretty. It is in between. I'm more interested in the heat of the thing, and how it plays/stats, ect.

I think the looks of the console are HIGHLY subjective, and I also believe that the item in question needs proper scale to be able to determine how it compares to the original design.

I also believe this is real, confirming the slim, which is much bigger news than simply how it looks. Compared to the PS3 slim, I don't think it looks better or worse. It simply exists.

Will sell well if its cheap,  wonder how the old HDDs will work in it.

To get things back on track, I actually think the new design looks quite nice.  People have compared it to a PC case, but it looks like one of the sleekest PC cases you can find.

Khuutra mentioned something about the device sitting in an entertainment center in the last thread, and I don't really see an issue with this.  Yeah, it'd stick out like a sore thumb under your TV, but what console doesn't?  Maybe the Wii, but that's about it, and most people I know have those standing up as it is.  Though mine is laying down due to spacial reasons.

So yeah, it looks pretty cool, and MUCH better than the old design.  That being said, I agree that the design is at odds with the look via which Apple and now Nintendo have managed to gain mass appeal, so Khuutra certainly does have a point there.

Looks aside, I want to know what really matters to me: will the infamous 'light of death' be fixed on the slim versions? If yes, I might finally get a 360.

A note on the HDD, I'm assuming this will not work with the standard 360 HDD.

That said, I'm also assuming this will have a built in HDD over 120gb. The 360 recently gained the ability to transport saved games, profiles, and installed games via a thumb-drive up to 16gb. I believe that if you do buy this new console, you will already have the capability to move all of your old HDD information over to the new one, and you will also very likely be upgrading the size. I recently did a migration from a 10 to a 120 gigger, and with any thumb-drive it's a piece of cake. :P The biggest headache would be reinstalling your games, which is a minor grip tbh.

It looks ok. What im really interested in seeing is

1-how size compares to original 360 and other consoles and

2-is there still the risk of RRoD?
