Of course there's GTA IV content in there.  You shoot stuff up, you jack rides, you have unnecessary conversations with annoying characters, and  you take down a drug kingpin for your own benefit.  If you could tune into radio conversations between Wario and Daisy, or blast out Jerry Lee Lewis while doing Yoshi drive-bys, it'd basically be Grand Theft Mario.

And considering how close Avatar was to winning the Oscars...yes, I do.


Avatar should have gotten poor reviews.  It recycled content from Pocahontas.

New Super Mario Bros both for DS and Wii are underrated.

Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are overrated.

Why? Because the gaming press is biased against 2d games. Obviously.

Still, I think IGN wasn't entirely wrong when they said Nintendo was lazy. At least in terms of creating 2d Mario, I would agree. The Wii version of New Super Mario Bros copies much from the DS version. Despite this, the Wii version is one of the fastest selling games ever.

What if Nintendo would put as much effort and imagination into a 2d Mario as they do a 3d Mario. Imagine how much something like that would sell.

Well they might. They needed a holiday game fast for 2009, so they didn't have time to put in a lot of stuff.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Galaxy 2?

New Super Mario Bros. Wii?

Both lazy efforts. Any Ninty game with the word Mario in it is lazy. Punchout was lazy. Xenoblade and the Last Story are not. Sin & Punishment are not. Wii Party, despite the name, is not. You know why? They are fresh.

I think you're forgetting two important things here Rol.

1. Mario and Luigi are different character models and control differently.

2. It's hard to complain about online multiplayer when local multiplayer is so poor.

But SMG2 keeps track of the time it took you to get each and every star. Where are the complaints about the missing online leaderboards?

And the lack of skirt physics. You'd better be able to play as Rosalyn or else they didn't put enough effort into this game.

The story is even older than that. Peirs Anthony had a similar story that almost made it into an anthology (which was collected into an anthology of his own), called "Alien Plot", and that likely wasn't even the earliest instance of that.
