btw,

Did you deactivate your account on the old HDD before switching ?

That's the thing.  I didn't switch HDD's.  I have an external hard drive that's connected with a USB.  I'm using it for my PC, PS3, and 360.  The HDD and my PS3 aren't the problem.  My purchases are all here, plain as day on my PS3 Transaction History.  What I bought, when I bought them, and how much I paid.  I just can't get them!!

uh...oh...

VERY bad news - http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-Media/PSN-Video-Store-Question-Re-Downloading/m-p/10882453

Apparently, you cannot re-download movies.

Well, that explains a lot.  We've learned something, today.  Because of this, we've grown as people and as a community.

If you say so...

What do I get for bringing the good news ?

I'd soak my "stuff" in it and mail it back

I'm almost sure I've read that you can't redownload video content, even if you buy it. You're permitted to back it up on other hard drives, but that's it, I think. It's why purchasing over renting has never seemed like a good deal to me.

Edit: Ah,you've found it. I really do wish they'd change the policy. I'd buy a shitload of videos!

One thing I don't get... why couldn't the SONY customer service guy tell him that? Seriously...

Because we gamers know more than them. They are there to help the clueless noobs.

Fixed.

This policy is why the current model for digital distribution won't work for movies as it does for music. Videos simply take up too much room and need to be able to redownload again.

i'll stick to my discs and renting.
