Look, I'm a little behind because I'm watching tivo, but let me just say as a massive X-box fan.

Microsoft is not at all representing my personal tastes and spending 20 minutes showing us 4 or 5 games we already knew about is not impressive in the least bit.  Spending another hour talking about sports, video chat and kinect games is not winning me over.  Actually the opposite its pissing me off.  Doesn't Kinect have its own press conference?  Please tell me they go back to games before the end...

Also please tell me they announce at least ONE lousey big impact exclusive we don't know about, and the Crysis game doesn't count.

Grrrrr.

It was only a couple of days ago you were saying the 360 slim Natal bundle wouldn't be anymore expensive than the Wii. The 360 slim didn't even get a price drop... even without a Natal thrown in.

Having said that it did look nice.

I think they decided to give the press a free console so they wouldn't slate that, at best, average press conference. 

Did you see the Natal software launch titles... they were poor.

Pretty disappointing conference on a personal level for a few reasons.

 

  • I bought a Jasper 360 last year, so I'm not buying a Slim. (NOW they add Wi-Fi)
  • I loved Halo:CE and Halo 2, but Halo 3 didn't do it for me anymore and I didn't bother with ODST. So you can infer my thoughts on Reach.
  • I thought Fable 2 was rubbish and have no interest in 3
  • GoW2 was alright, I'll probably rent GoW3
  • CoD:BO looked cool, but I don't really play straight FPS's anymore. Last one I liked was Borderlands, but that had RPG/open world stuff.
  • Kinect looked intersting, but nothing there was for me. I also really don't want to have to buy more add-ons. I'm sure my g/f would love Kinectimals though.
  • There was nothing announced/shown that I wasn't already expecting.

For me the best part was the video of MGS: Rising

Gears 3 looked good, but you could definitely tell that had alot of polishing to do. So it was hard to get into.

A 500 gb PS3 has been rumoured, if it's the same price as the current model than Microsoft is they one in trouble.

That was a great conference.

First part was for hardcore gamers. 2nd part was for casuals and hardcore gamers with families and friends. 

My wife watched it and she is loving Kinect. My daughter is 3 and she loved the Kinectimals. This is very very smart from M$. 

This will sell to casuals hugely guys. That was M$ aim. Great to see Hardcore market catered for and not forgotten. The new 360 looks beautiful. Absolutely gonna buy another new 360 in the next 2 months. 

Fantastic conference M$. 

Great price on the new 360 to. That is a bargain.

There were some cool demos in the beginning, though an equal gears of war with better graphics and some minor changes just makes me yawn, and I don't really care for Fable games.

The Kinect stuff was mostly rehashing what the Wii and Eyetoy have done though, and the only mildly hardcore game is coming in 2011 (unfortunately they didn't even show the person playing the game, so no idea how it's played).

No Kinect price or even a damn release date.

I'm giving it a D-

Release date was November 4th wasn't it?

there was an unannounced crytek exclusive

come on fellas... get over the bias and admit that was a good conference.

 

some of your point are valid
those games may even sell like hot cake (Wiifit clone/natal)
even the slim if you want (redesign)

but there was no news games (outside the crytek teaser) and only exclusivities we already knew about

I mean : where is MILO ? where is the exclusive Konami game ? where is FFvXIII ?

pretty average conference

get over YOUR biais ...

(I just realized that the new SLIM is as costly as ... a PS3 without the BR player ...)
