who cares why dont they like it? its their loss. they are in minority. we (football fans) are in huge majority. so our opinnion is more important .no one would really give a crap if there was a rugby world cup (i dont think anyone else plays it besides americans), but the entire world is interested in football world cup. again, its their loss, i hope they have fun watching their favourite sport...

Eh? There are two Rugby World cups. Very popular and very successful.

FYI...

England V. USA drew 17.1 Million in Nielson ranks.  Which are good, even more people likely watched because Nielson ratings always underplay sporting events due to them not taking into good account things like parties and bars.

Viewership is up 80% over the 2006 for the first round in general.

As a comparison... the first 6 games of the NBA finals averaged 16.4 Million.

World Cup actually beat most of the basketball finals.

Another comparison... a Regular American Football Playoffs game pulls about 36 Million.

So a ways to go yet.

But not bad

It's always amazing to see the same ignorant statements from non-Americans over and over and over.

I'm guessing you haven't noticed the same ignorant comments coming from yanks over and over again because you agree with them.

I like american football and basketball

but I gotta say there is probably no sport where  the crowd is as crazy as in soccer

the fans at a football and baseball game are only eating and chatting

(rugby is too sick , it's like american football soccer and ultimate fighting combined)

Hmm, is that so? Let's see...

Football fans - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQGHpsFLms8

Soccer fans - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2vpVKsAqIA

Basketball fans -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egAUb6dIh6Q&feature=related

I think this proves otherwise

Cherry picking ftw

So there aren't two Rugby World cups? The next ones wont be in 2013? The film Invictus was pure fantasy?

I'm confused by your statement? Unless you mean Gridiron is really Rugby not Football and should be using Rugby as part of it's name then I'm with you on that one.

Lol. U mad?

Look at you. Making the same tired old arguments, but now you're not even bothering to back them up. I don't blame you though, since you can't.

Just pointing out your hypocrisy. Several yanks have said that on here ignoring it goes both ways. Seems like you are mad. Maybe if you want me to back up something I say in responce to something you said you should back up what you put first?

Just an idea. That or go get some tissues. For you i wont suggest man-sized Also as far as I'm aware thats the first time I've made that argument. Maybe you can back up when I said that before?

Actually, as immigration into the US continues at major rates Soccer is gaining in popluarity. Also American's are begining to love the sport as well!

E.G

USA has more fans than any other country at the world cup (excluding South Africa...)

40k USA

35K England

25k Germany

Not bad for a country that hates soccer

where did you get this statistic from? it's very interesting

I don't know about the numbers but I heard the same thing on tv

I see. That says something

That a lot of Americans have a lot of disposible income?

Meh i'll just quote everyone, I heard it on tv during England vs USA. I didn't believe it at first considering England always seem have the most support and are a footballing rich nation. It was then repeated prior to the USA-Slovenia game and it was like confirmation to me.

Also having a bigger population helps and obviously extra finances compared to most nations.

Oh, I totally believe it.  I think it's just a matter of population and economics.  England is rich as well.  I think second in Per Capita GDP, but still has a decent amount of economic problems when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Oh yeah, the opening rounds were beating NBA Finals games... which of course is, the finals.

That's better then i'd of thought for sure.
