Very much deserved red card. I applaud referees in this WC for being so up to the competition level. Definitely an improvement over the last 2 WC. They're not afraid of applying the right decisions

Deserved how? This is football, some contact is bound to be made. This is easily the worst ref of the tournament so far... and as I'm English, I should want the Germans to do badly!

How come? It's a fucking foul from behind. That deserves a booking. He was booked for the exact same thing. Therefore, completely correct red card
I'm glad that refs are booking more, that penalizes teams that foul excessively and who foul on the talented ones, refs usually don't apply the rules fully and tend to overlook some things as to not "disrupt" the game, when the opposite happens, for not applying the rules teams think they can foul to their leisure

The first one was accidental and it was a weak tap from behind and he's only running back to apply some pressure, not try to kill the guy or prevent him from getting in on goal.
The problem with overly whistle blowing is that it can penalise teams for trying to play the game competitively. A player can't be scared to go in for a tackle because they think they'll get carded or sent off. It ruins the game and it starts to reward diving. Players go down way too easy in the modern game. In fact, if refs in the modern game weren't so whistle happy, then diving wouldn't be such an issue.
I'm not saying you shouldn't penalise players for actual fouls, but players seem to have no balance or strength these days and that ref was blowing the whistle for many imagined wrongs.
