I'm sorry I was being sarcastic. I saw an estimate of their cash reserves last year at over $31B. They're not going anywhere. That's how rumours get started I should use a smiley or say (mild sarcasm) first like the Elcor in ME.

And with these numbers Just Dance has retaken the lead from God of War III for WW sales this year (GoWIII is bigger in NA though, but its Others legs need a good kick!). Just Dance's legs are crazy... Just Crazy!

They may leave gaming business though if performance doesn't improve.
More and more MS shareholders are asking for MS to go corporate-only like IBM (see articles on financial sites).
The billions MS has is not "free cash", shareholders want maximum % return and Xbox business just doesn't cut it right now...
By the way, MS half ass strategy (buying no studios) was chosen precisely because they wanted to be able to leave quickly and without spending too much if needed.
With only 2 countries left where the 360 is still really alive (the UK and the US), that moment could be closer than we use to think, unless Natal is really successful (which is very unlikely).
Hey, Fragile's 12th week is better than the 2nd week! LEGS!!!
(Tries to ignore that the sales are hellishly poor no matter how much you spin it...)

What? It's down 15K from last week in it's best market. It dropped ~27%, How is that strong?
But Just Dance, now THAT is strength. Interesting to see it's still kicking. I would not be surprised if we saw the game on the top 10 (or top 20) a year from now.
Brennan: They've made roughly a Billion U.S. in the last 12 quarters running. Why panic and abandon an industry that could potentially earn them 2B/yr. next gen? They paid a lot of money to prevent Sony from controlling the household entertainment centers of the world and threatening their core business. Another $B written off to deal with rrod. You really think they will bail out if Natal doesn't turn an instant profit?
Not buying first party devs seems like the same sort of corporate ass-coverage that led them to put in a dvd and sell the HD drive as a peripheral 'just in case'. If a third party dev loses money it's not on their bottom line. Cash in hat has accomplished almost as many exclusives, timed or otherwise with a lot less risk. Did you see what EA paid for Bioware? Bungie alone could have cost them a whole year in the red. I'll look for the articles about M$ shareholders and their reasoning behind not buying devs but I just don't see your best-case scenario playing out
If anyone has nervous shareholders I would think it would be Sony right now. One more HW price cut will negate all the hard work they've done building a HW base and a SW library. It's time for SCE to show some black ink on their bottom line for a change.
