Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto: Mario Shouldn't appear in so many games

mario can appear in as many games as he wants!

Ooooo! I wanna do my own translation! Just for the fun of it:

"Mario is an important figure in Nintendo and we want him to show up in our titles. In fact there's a bunch of games in which he fits perfectly. Nevertheless, if he shows up in too many games, he'll lose his specialness (singularity is the exact translation...), and for that we'll be more strict in the appearances of Mario in our games. "

I agree, at least he doesn't want people to get tried of the ol' red plumber.

So long as he's still in the following games:

Smash Bros

Mario Kart

Paper Mario

DS RPG games (Bowser's inside story, Partners in Time)

Mario Strikers

Then I'm good. The rest can go.

If Yoshi's Island, Mario Party, and Dr. Mario were to go; I'd cry.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Well with all the success of the Wii, we've seen less Mario spinoffs released, and instead we got the sequel of a true Mario game. Sounds like Miyamoto is making a statement that may not have been correct before, but is certainly accurate now.

My friend is an idiot. He kept playing Tetris because I told him there was an endboss.

Since we have Wii Party coming out, I won't care about that as much since it can be replaced easily. We haven't seen a sequel to Yoshi's Island in almost 20 years, so I didn't count that.

Dr. Mario can stay, though

as long as the games are good, i could care less how many or few games hes in.

so it's taken him a good 10 years to realise mario is milked?? about freakin time, now go out there and make us some new I.P's!!!

What's up with that picture?

Hmm I don't want this to happen... I want my handheld mario tennis game!

I also want a new Mario tennis game, not just for the handheld but for the Wii as well. The motion controls would be perfect for it.
