Actually Leo, iPhone lost marketshare to Android last quarter, according to NPD.

Plus, as has been stated herein, there may be a lot of gaming on the iPhone, but the vast majority are the little or no cost games. My wife's iPhone has half a dozen FREE games on it. That does not mean I have stopped buying Wii or DS. It just means that there are some things for my son to play while waiting when he does not have his DS.

People hate things which are new and things which they don't understand. People in general hate change. A lack of buttons represents a change and they hate that. I don't think its really about asumption to be completely honest with you.

By the way, the most successful portable computer game of all time is probably the Nokia Snake game they bundled with their phones. Its an interesting perspective really that I don't think many/any people around here have. The most successful game of all time is probably Solitaire given the time spent playing etc by millions of people around the world simply because its bundled with Windows.

well there are dozens of android phones in the market, available over every network, and selling quite well as they offer a ince alternative to the iphone, when you add all those phones together clearly the iphone begins to lose market share.. but the iphone is selling amazingly well, so really it doesn't matter
