People hate things which are new and things which they don't understand. People in general hate change. A lack of buttons represents a change and they hate that. I don't think its really about asumption to be completely honest with you.

By the way, the most successful portable computer game of all time is probably the Nokia Snake game they bundled with their phones. Its an interesting perspective really that I don't think many/any people around here have. The most successful game of all time is probably Solitaire given the time spent playing etc by millions of people around the world simply because its bundled with Windows.
