Forums - Microsoft - FF13..... This really made me laugh! Glad I got the 360 version

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Square Enix and Sony Computer Entertainment America for selling copies of Final Fantasy XIII that allegedly freeze and even break PlayStation 3 consoles. The lawsuit, filed on June 2, 2010 by Daniel Wolf of San Diego, Calif., alleges Final Fantasy XIII has caused "severe and widespread damage" to Sony PS3 gaming systems since its release on March 9, 2010. The lawsuit states that, for many consumers, playing Final Fantasy XIII has "caused their PS3 consoles to freeze and become totally and permanently inoperable." Wolf said he purchased a copy of Final Fantasy XIII the day it was released, and when attempting to save his game, his PS3 became unresponsive and would no longer play any other media after restarting it. "Both Defendants are eminently aware of the damage being cause by their defective products, and have chosen to do nothing about it," the lawsuit says. The suit also alleges that both Sony and Square Enix blamed the issue on each other. Square Enix said the issue resulted from Sony's console, and Sony blamed the issue on a faulty Final Fantasy XIII game disc. Neither company allegedly offered to cover the cost of repairing PS3 consoles. The class seeks more than $5 million in damages and other financial relief. Square Enix has not responded to requests for comment at this time. Sony told IGN it does not comment on legal matters.

@ OP

It's the same game. Who gives a fuck? No one. Oh and btw, you should probably list your sources. Next time, post a link and perhaps your opinion because this thread has virtually no substance.

5 million USD in damages? That's fucking stupid. I've been trying to keep my trolling in check but really, no one cares about this lawsuit just because some douchefuck licked his ps3 disc or scratched it up with his mom's car keys then threw his PS3 out the window so it would break and he could sue Sony and/or Square Enix for a ton of money because he was an idiot. Maybe next time he shouldn't buy the game and save himself some money for more important things like cell phone or car payments or getting a fucking job and moving out of his mom's basement. Problem solved.

Pick one, they are all the same.

Its really pathetic that you get some kid of pleasure out of other peoples mis fortune just because its not on your console of choice.

Just saying.

I also heard that it has cause issues on x360, I have heard some people got RROD from playing on it too much, I don't think it is the game i think it's a case of consoles overheating.

Also I have had zero issues I own a ps3 slim and have racked up 200hrs on FF XIII, So I think this is limited to the fat edition ps3's which we all know are prone to overheating and melting the solder:(:(

anyway good luck to them getting money back

it's the future of handheld

Why would this make you laugh?

Also, Wanda, your exploits were the reason that Ant-Man, Vision, and Hawkeye died.  And then, you created the House of M universe?  And, your death in the Ultimate Universe caused Magneto to go crazy resulting in the death of Dr. Strange, Giant Man, Wasp, Wolverine, Night Crawler, Daredevil, the Blob, Multiple Man, Thor, Cannonball, Proffesor X, Angel, and Captain Britain!!!

I have a MGS Bundled/PS2 Comp. PS3 and I platinumed FFXIII at 240 hours and never had any problems.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:
