Forums - Microsoft - Plants vs Zombies will be a Summer of Arcade 2010 title

Hey guys,

I can confirm that PopCaps Plants vs Zombies will be a Summer of Arcade 2010 title for the Xbox 360. The game made its way on the Ipod/iPhone/iPad and on the PC. The next step will be the Xbox 360 with a Summer of Arcade 2010 release.

For those of you who don't know what Summer of Arcade is: It is basically a period of time in the summer, when there are no HUGE retail games available. There will be one or two games released every week, just like every other week in the year, but they save the high quality games for this period of time.

Here are some high quality XBLA games that were released in a Summer of Arcade period:

  • Braid
  • Shadow Complex
  • TMNT
  • Trials HD
  • Geometry wars 2

So if you like Plants vs Zombies and you do have a Xbox 360, you will be pleased this summer.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Not bad... I still havent tried it, but I might get the PC version

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

i have it on pc and it is an awesome game, i don't have xbox360 but if they release it on psn i'll buy it again.

My predictions for Summer of Arcade are...

  • Comic Jumper
  • Hydro Thunder Hurricane
  • BattleBlox Theater
  • Breach
  • Limbo

That's assuming they don't announce something like a Shadow Complex 2 at E3.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Don't forget Castle Crashers on your list of previous sumemr of arcade hits...

As for me, I think themanwithnoname's list looks pretty solid.

Sweet. I almost bought the PC version a few weeks ago....

Good thing I was holding out :)

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

I honestly don't think it will unless something changes. Just thinking of controlling that game using dual analog sticks would be enough for me never to look at it again. Meanwhile all the ones you listed are easily controllable, even some designed, aroud a controller. PvZ is simply not a game for a controller.

You can't forget Sonic 4 Episode 1 which is coming out sometime this summer

Is it still summer after the delay? If it is, yeah, I'd assume they'd fit it in there somewhere. That's the only reason I didn't put it in there.
