You may be onto something. From their official FAQ:

"Deus Ex: Human Revolution is in development by Eidos Montréal. The studio is composed of industry veterans who have worked on projects such as Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six and the Myst series, as well as individual titles like Saboteur and Far Cry 2."

More trouble, and a little good news, come a few questions later:

"Additionally, Deus Ex 1 & 2 writer Sheldon Pacotti has been enlisted as story consultant and has been working with the EM team, and original creators Warren Spector & Harvey Smith have been spoken to."

The game is actually quite linear, not open world like Oblivion, but you can choose how to play through the game (shoot, stealth, hacking, what kind of weapons you specialize in), from the gameplay prespective I think that it is similar to Oblivion (first person, you only play as yourself - no party).

And the plot is leagues above KotOR's

You don't "crawl", you go through airducts, you use invisible suits, you use drones to scout ahead, there's plenty of ways to sneak around :P

I played the first using stealth, it was damn fun.

Although....  Speaking of retro. I know u like Age of Empires II (from 1999... you must have been like 5 when it came out lol). How old were u when u was introduced to AoE II? What I mean is, how on earth could a youngster like u manage to get into an old game like AoE II and not be put off by the dated graphics.
