Forums - PC - Shogun 2: Total War Announced

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/06/03/killigraphy-shogun-2-total-war-confirmed/

Hell fucking yes.  Shogun remains to this day my favorite Total War game simply because of the setting.  I've been hoping they'd make a sequel for years!

I am actually kidn of excited for this. I was afraid they'd go for modern times and completely screw up the Total War series.

However Civ 5 is coming out this year and Civ has always been better than TW.

Never played Shogun (Only Medieval I through Medieval II, can't play Empire and onwards because of PC requirements), but I think it's a good move. I can't see how they can move on beyond the Civil War, but retain their core gameplay elements.

I hope that they focus a lot on the single player campaign. I hope that there is a heavy emphasis on the importance of supply lines, morale, desertion, etc, and the ability to win a battle or war, without actually fighting.

Now I really need to get a new computer! Don't want to miss out on this!

I wonder if we'll see Rome 2: Total War next? That would make me cry of joy. A Total War set in China, Three Kingdoms: Total War or something, would be truly awsome as well.

or maybe Greece: Total War instead of Rome, china sounds good and they could add a Mongol expansion.

Edit: A fantasy take could be interesting to or maybe even a licensed game like Shinning Force: Total war (SEGA) I doubt they could get Lord of the rings (EA) but that could be cool to lol.

There was a LotR add on for Medieval II, but I would love to see a licensed one

Anyway, this is great news, I missed out on Shogan and it seems an interesting area to explore. I do hope more modern ones as well, with a 19th century one, featuring the US Civil War, Crimean War, Franco-Prussian war and maybe stretching to the Boer war... I would also like to see Rome II, or something else in that era

But one at a time! Unfortunately, it won't be out until 2011

hehe, know what country I would be in the 19th century, well its the one I always am but anyway.  they would have to make Britain weaker than it was, 30 years more advanced than the second most advanced country.  I guess we had a similar story with Rome though.

correct me if I am wrong
stop me if I am bias
I love a good civilised debate (but only if we can learn something).

Yes! YYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!

Bummer. The setting doesn't interest me much. But at least it means there will be a Rome II: Total War someday.
