The staff at Artoon is made up of mainly ex-Sega people, mostly from (old school) Sonic Team (Sonic 1-3K/CD, Ristar, NiGHTS, Burning Rangers) and Team Andromeda (Panzer Dragoon 1-2/Saga).  Actually, there's a lot of ex-Sega people at cavia and Feelplus too, and AQi was founded by an an ex-Sega CEO.

So quite a few hits and misses then. I guess what matters is who is pushing the project and Mistwalker is so hopefully they will use Artoon well!

Yeah, I'd say Artoon been (pretty sadly) hit and miss, but I'd also say their "hits" tend to be with mainly (a) Mistwalker and (b) Nintendo.  So doing a game with both should surely lead to their best game yet!

The Last Story is a 1st party game. It's a joint project between Nintendo and MistWalker. Explains why the game looks and feels fantastic.

I'd say that means its 2nd party but yeah its clear ninty have been helping them with stuff.

On the other hand xenoblades graphics are poor in comparison.
