After looking at all of the weeks, since the debut of the Nintendo DS, there have been many weird, unexpected jumps from certain consoles, but it usually dies off very quickly. Perhaps, price drops, or newly released, highly anticipated games, caused such jumps. I wonder what happened to make the Playstation 3 outsell the Wii for two weeks straight, aswell as the Xbox 360?

In these two weeks though the Wii had nothing and the PS3 had: A price drop, a new model which is Japan's favourite colour (white), DW6, PES2008. What did you expect?

No, the Wii is killing the PS3 and will continue to do so. The PS3 is only seeing a temporary boost because of the price cut so people that were waiting for that are now going out and getting one. And the Wii world wide is completely dominating the PS3 at the moment so don't expect any come back any time soon.

Are you retarded? How does "price drops, or newly released, highly anticipated games" boosting sales fit in the weird and unexpected category? PSP beat the DS because of FFVII:CC AND the new slim line. PS3 beat the Wii because of a few games AND a new cheaper whiter SKU. My 9 year old cousin could tell you that.

Honestly, stop freaking out because the PS3 beat the wii for 2 weeks. There are 52 weeks. So out of the first year, the PS3 beat the Wii 2 weeks (maybe 3 or 4 if I missed a couple weeks earlier in the year). The Wii still outsold the PS3 at LEAST 45+ weeks. So is the PS3 coming back? Maybe, but if it is, you can't judge it on two weeks. I may have a different opinion if the PS3 sells more for the next 6 months though.

Both companies will have a market in Japan. The H/W of the PSP is doing much better in Japan since the slim / price cut. There are people who like waggle and there are also people who like HD games.

 As right as you might be, calling someone retarded is extremely immature.  I don't think that screen name of yours will offer much protection if you're going to treat people with that sort of disregard.

The PS3 has had some good sales as of late, but it is still quite a ways from challenging the Wii for the dominating sales spot.

I expect the PS3 to have a good holiday but its not going to get close to the Wii in terms of sales. The best you can hope for is the sales ratios to tighten a bit, which is pretty standard for the holidays for all consoles.

I think a good holiday goal would be for the PS3 to outsell the 360, its within reach, it won't be easy, and it would be a good boost to public perception and would probably generate some great PR.

With that said, expect the bulk of PR to go to the Wii as it is already widely considered "the gift" this year ala "Tickle'Me Elmo" (sp?) and the like.
