Forums - Sales - About the sales of SMG, one thing to remember

1. Mario is one of the few franchises that is loved by everyone, casual gamers and core gamers alike.

2. Even though the Wii user bases is now over Million larger than the Xbox360 it is safe to say that the core group is still 2-1 maybe 3-2 in favor of the X360-

3. Core gamers KNOW when release dates are and want the games ASAP

4. Casual Gamers don't usually know when games are coming out. They usually hear it by word of mouth or a commercial(of which N has been lacking) I was a casual gamer once, when I was a kid I had NO idea when stuff was coming out... unless that hyped it to death(Halo).

5. SMG will have amazing legs, look at NSMB for DS- many people are buying today because they just now got their DS, but have wanted it all along

All of that to say Mario is the kind of game you buy with or without hype- I remember playing SB3 on my cousin's NES about a year after it came out. That was the last straw for me I BEGGED my dad to get me a NES for my B-day and when we saw that they had a bundle pack he got it for me.

Also we need to remember that people who buy a Wii a year from now will want to have SMG in their library- It is Mario, the highest rated game EVER, and on an obsessivly popular system.

Lastly we need to remember that casual don't just walk into a store and spend 50 bucks on a game, they need to here people talking about how fun it is, and once word of mouth has made its rounds they may pick it up, if for anything because everyone is praising it.

psn- tokila

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Booked sucked ass reading but had some decent messages and adicus or whatever the fathers name is is a great guy.

Reading the scarlet letter as we speak, huge ass details, this guy had to be high or something when he wrote this because its way to deep for some guy to just think up

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Proud supporter of all 3 console companys

Proud owner of 360wii and DS/psp

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

We don't need to worry about Mario... This game is going to sell amazing, being at the end of this gen one of the biggest sellers...
I think the only one who must be worry is Miyamoto... How is he going to meet the expectations for the next Mario???

I thought it had excellent prose.  I think growing up in the South helps in understanding it, though.  I really connected with it because it's somewhat like a story about my heritage (ignoring the larger themes).
