This game wass completely a clone of Barca-Inter earlier in the year. 24 shots and 16 on target and not a goal? How much bad luck can the Spanish have?

It would be nteresting to see Spain v Brazil if it happens though, we could see some serious elimation early on with some of the other teams going forward.

the swiss were so organised at the back that the spanish just could not get through. I still think the spanish wil go through to the next round though,

i was thinking the same about the south korean and a couple of north korean players. They played with so much heart, energy and determination, i was mega impressed and would like to see both of them go far in the tournament.

Yeah, if I was a manager, I'd sign ASAP Kim Jung-Woo, S.Korea's central midfielder, he totally controlled the flow of the game. I'd also throw a couple players from the Japanese team (Nakazawa)

Diego Maradona launched an extraordinary attack on fellow football greats Pele and Michel Platini as he predicted he could steer Argentina to a third World Cup triumph.

 

"Pele should go back to the museum," Maradona said about recent criticism from the Brazilian great about his coaching ability.

"We all know what the French are like and Platini as a Frenchman thinks he knows it all," Maradona added after the UEFA President said Maradona was not a good coach as a player.

"I feel capable of passing on to the players what I experienced as a footballer," he told a news conference.

"I want to be (world) champion and I have Messi, backed by a great team," Maradona said, adding that no other player in the tournament so far had come "within 40 percent" of Messi.

"We have spectacular players who are not playing but who are behind, waiting for their chance," he said of Argentina's strength in depth.

Maradona has really gone down in my already low expectations of him as a person. Fine footballer perhaps but as an individual there is very little to like....
