It also seems to me that Israel doesn't belong in the middle east region and would be more suited to European mainland....but there you go.
So many countries (all?) are hostile towards them all within the same region.

Working on getting you the link. I am reading up on the ~5,000 threat forum at Militaryphotos.net, and from my understanding, the Jewish news sources are stating that they confiscated assault rifles.
'Til then, here are the peaceful protesters:
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I'm not so sure the situation would be all that different if they were suddenly to find themselves on the European mainland.

Wierd, i didn't see any assault rifles in that video. How about you back up what you say when you say it instead of regurgating what you read from who knows what source. Not to mention that I would take a Jewish news report about these ships having weapons with a grain of salt until confirmed by an independant third party.

Europeans aren't hostile towards Jews or Isrealis for that matter.

I know what your saying is right, but here's the problem, with a blockade in place Palestine is screwed. I don't think people understand how bad that blockade has ruined the area, I went to Lebanon recently and I saw more homeless Palestinian's take refuge in an already war torn country just so they could escape the life that Israel has forced on them. Israel's actions aren't helping their cause, the random attack's on innocent people, the filtering of their supplies and building home's on Palestinian land is creating more Hamas member's than Israel can even handle. When your home is like a prison, you have foreign soldier's walking into your home and taking everything by force and random death's that are apparently 'accidents' keep occurring, then I'm not surprised that the people of Palestine would look on to a group like Hamas to try and fix their problem's. Politic's was obviously tried for 20 year's and thank's to the fault of both Palestine and Israel it didn't work out, other countries obviously turn a blind eye to the situation and you have one country with a donkey and stick vs a tank, this can't lead to a happy ending. Israel should have tried to resolve the situation year's ago when it was still possible, as of now it isn't until a full blown war occurrs which sadly will probably happen soon. |
Yeah, I watched Ross Kemp's Sky documentary (very well made) on Palestine. Gaza was a wreck. But then, could that be improved if the blocakde was lifted? No one would invest in Gaza; it's economy would not recover to any degree. If the blockade was lifted then there would be another war shortly as terrorists and lunatics use Gaza to attack southern Israel. Israel can't administer Gaza, the UN has no power to do it, and the Palestinians themselves have shown they can't create a stable, democratic and responsible government there. It's almost a lost cause, and casualties can only be kept to a minimum by the blockade. Aid should be stepped up, but with no government to distribute it effectively, it won't rebuild the city.
The settlement-building is the one thing Israel has to stop immediately and reverse if possible though. That helps no one. The US should pressure them on that.
For anyone who's interested here's a video taken from the ship being boarded.

@Mr.Stickball: Everything you said was said by the Israel PR, just because they say something it doesn't mean it's true. It's in this article as well as a Spanish passenger's view on the conflict and some new info.

Israel has also been criticized for creating a media blackout as soon as the fiasco began, mainly because passengers on the boat are from over 60 different countries and some of them are news reporter's.

For anyone wondering the ICRC law does not cover illegal blockades, in this case Israel were pirates invading a ship in International water's. The ship had every right to defend themselves when under attack.
Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

And we assume that since its Israeli PR, that they obviously must be wrong, and we have to trust the Hamas supporters on the floatila, right?
Why is it that immediately after the soliders drop into the ship, they are beaten with pipes and stabbed with knives? Even your video proves that happened. I don't think that is the way to start on a boarding maneuver.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
This is my last post in here. Too few actual facts coming out of news outlets at the moment; some people here are taking knee-jerk ideological positions which impair the ability to have an informed, rational, neutral discussion. They've already made up their minds so there's no point in continuing the discussion. Even the OP put 'terror' nonsense in his thread title. Have fun guys
