I'll be buying and playing KZ3, but definitely not in 3D.

Which DLP do you have again? PS3 is guaranteed to work with your TV if its a Mitsubishi..With a samsung, it may be trouble but there should be workarounds. Also, did you hear that Panasinic 3D bluray players are natively supporting checkerboard displays...Yay! |
From Mitsu " Mitsubishi believes our 3D adapter will be compatible with the 3D signal output from the PS3 but until Sony provides the upgrade this cannot be guaranteed. For details on Sony's plans, please contact Sony. There are a few individual games developed for PS3 and Xbox 360 that have 3D settings which include the checkerboard format needed for Mitsubishi 3D Ready TVs "
I have this one.
The above is why I am skeptical until I am told otherwise by Sony. This is using Mitsu's 3D Adapter.

Yeah, I don't think anyone will tell you amd guarantee the above setup will work...as no one wants to support it. But with some trial and error im sure someone will find a workaround.
Kinda like when you go to Nvidia 3D vision setup and medical test screen, and then switch to your xbox 360/PS3 and use 3D vision to play Avatar
Its not supposed to work...but it does :)
I plan on getting Killzone 3 but I'm not rushing out to get a 3D tv till i know the technology is stable and affordable. HD tvs are just finally being adopted.
Hopefully they work out the kinks with the whole having to sit directly in front of the tv thing. Maybe make the tvs curved or something. Also they need to perfect those painful to wear glasses. I do believe 3D could change the way we think of gaming. I know I fucking love 3D roller coasters at Busch Gardens, they trick my mind into believing I could touch things that weren't there. I think it can work just the same for video games, which would be AWESOME!!!!.

i would get the games but probably wont get a 3d tv till later as at the moment there is not much 3d stuff to watch and in the feature there will be tvs with out the need for glasses and i dont want to where 2 pairs of glasses as i already have some.
It depends on when KZ3 is released. I'm thinking about getting a 3D tv once the second generation of epuipment comes out. I'd like to make sure all the kinks are worked out of the technology before I drop the cash on another TV. Plus, I hope the price will come down in a year as well. I just can't see dropping 3 grand on a TV and a few pairs of glasses with the limited material supporting 3D at the current time.
Id love to if I had the TV and all that good stuff but I have a problem. IDK if these 3D tvs require those Red and Blue glasses or something that has a different effect on each lens to achieve the 3D effect, but if it does it wont work for me. I have a lazy eye that I can't see too well out of so I wouldn't be able to see out of the left lens. Does anybody know if it works like this? dis?

Ah see, that's the biggest problem with the consumer market right now. When the word "3D" is mentioned, people think of those crappy ass rednblue glasses that were claimed as 3D like a decade ago.
No, 3D in modern days is amazing. There was a 3D tv demo at my local computer store the other week, and it looked BEAUTIFUL. It was like the transition from 480P to 1080P, it was just so amazing.
Like a few of the previous posters said, i'll probably be getting a 2nd generation 3D TV, to make sure all the kinks are worked out, but I'll definitely be buying one one day.

is it just me or do 3DTV's work better when watching in the darkness???

Nope.
Not gonna buy a 3DTV just for a few games that I could easily enjoy playing without 3D.
