Do you keep your games or trade them in?

I have shelves and shelves of games.  Some games offered such a great experience that I tell myself that I'll play them again, someday.  Someday never comes.  A decade--sometimes, decades pass and these games never get touched.  Newer, bigger, better experiences keep coming along.  Those games that I intend to play never get played.  In fact, there's probably 100 games (maybe even way more than that) that I own that I haven't played or haven't even beaten the first level of.  And all the while, their value is fading as "the next big thing" waits on the horizon.

So here's the question:  Do you keep your games or do you trade them in?

Well, in the last era, I traded them in, but now I regret that. I have actually re bought a few PS2 games, but my collection only stands at 34, despite buying closer to 70 games!

On PS3, I did sell 1 or 2 early on, but since them I have kept them all, and I am at a nice 46 now, looking to reach 100 at some point

I used to trade them in along time ago until I treaded in my only copy of Earthbound not knowing at the time how great or valuable it is.

I always regretted doing that and bought it back at a high price.

I never want to have that feeling of regret again so it’s very rare that I’ll trade any game in unless it’s simply terrible.

I keep them.

I like my collection to be of games I think are good, so if a game sucks, I have no problem getting rid of it. But other than that, I keep my games.

2 years ago and before that, I used to always trade in stuff. But after I traded in a game, that I really wanted back and wasn't able to get back for another 2 years, I stopped and never did it again. Hell, after I buy stuff, I immediately take off the plastic to make sure I'm not even tempted to return it. If I buy it, I'm keeping it.

And in the long run it's just a better decision. You trade something in, and you obviously are losing a lot of value. Not only do you not get full value for what you paid for it, but what you are going to get with that money is not going to equal the value you had previously. You lose twice haha.

So now, I hang onto everything which has even included games I have absolutely detested (such as Prototype). It makes a nice collection though, but I am in need of some shelves haha.

I trade in. Some games like Fifa 09 and ones that evidentally get outdated there is little point in keeping.

Games I enjoy and will replay I always retain. Those that I doubt I will play usually single player games that I have fully completed I trade in.

With the exception of couple of games, I always keep them >.

i only buy the best games, which are most often ps3 exclusives so i tend to keep most of them.
