Forums - Nintendo - Warioland Shake It Wii

So I was looking for a game I could buy cheap to take a little break from playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 and I came across a brand new copy of Warioland Shake It Wii. I can not believe I had not bought this sooner. It is fun as hell. What pushed me over the edge to get it was a few people posting in another thread telling that guy (Severance) to get it. I do not know why Nintendo did not push this title (that I am aware of atleast). Its a fun little platformer and so far is well worth the $18 I paid for it. I am curious as to a level count though.

good for u, I bought the game last year and had alot of fun with it
Nintendo should release more 2d games like metroid or kid icarus as new wiiware title

Nintendo made me a gamer so I'd be stupid to ever try to forget that                                             like so many people nowadays

bought it for $20 almost a year ago. It's a good game, i'm glad nintendo dropped the price on this instead of charging the original $50 they did when the game came out. Now drop the prince on Punch-out pls :)

I think Nintendo tried to push the game. I remember the Youtube ad where the trailer would play and the Youtube page would start falling a part. But Wario is not as popular as Mario, Luigi, or Peach and this plays into the sales of Wario's side-scrollers. Another thing is that there are not many Wario side-scrollers developed by Nintendo for Wario to have an established fanbase.

Those are my thoughts and I could be wrong.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Nintendo did some marketing, but in the end Wario Land is a 2D platformer focused on exploration unlike NSMB Wii which is very much skill based. If you just rush to the end of a level in Wario Land, it's probably not going to be fun. You really have to take your time and search in every corner for secrets. 2D Mario you can play like you want, hence it's meeting most gamers expectations of what a platformer should be. All the biggest selling 2D platformers require a good amount of skill while I can't think of any big hits that relied more on exploring the levels or solving puzzles.

As for how many levels there are in Wario Land: After the short tutorial level at the beginning there are five continents with four levels and a boss each, plus a final boss. Additionally there are a dozen hidden levels which are more challenging. If you go for 100 %, it should take at least 20 hours to complete this game.

Thanks for the level info and yes I am wanting to 100% it

it was pretty awesome, but....
you feel like taking a break of galaxy 2?
did you 100% finish it already?
wow

No I am in the 90's with stars and 40some comet coins. But, I lplayed it nonstop late saturday night and Sunday also played it a ton Monday and Tuesday. I normally do  not play my games like that and I was wanting to take a small break because of it.

I wasn't very happy when I bought Wario Land: Shake It. Not because I thought it was a bad game, but because the very next day the price dropped down to $20 and I bought it for $50 the day before. I wish I would of waited another day. Other than that, I really did enjoy the game.

I still havent picked this up and Iv wanted too for a LONG time
