Why not combine the Zune pass and XBLG? It would make paying for gold more acceptable.

Yep, and could possibly create some more synergy between their products.

What would be really great (IMO) is if the didn't give you 10 song credits, but gave you 1000 MS points.  They could expire at the end of a month just like the song credits, but you could use them on the XBOX live market place for more than just songs (I'm looking at you new MW2 maps!).

The Zune is a great device, i just wish that you could use it as a phone aswell. I'm not going to carry around two devices.

Say 'Hi' to Kin:

LOL...how about lowering the price on the Zune HD...it's priced comparatively to a Ipod Touch, but doesn't have anywhere the same functionality. I have a Zune HD 32GB, and I love it, but it doesn't hold a candle to the 32 GB Ipod Touch...nowhere even close with all those apps.

@pbroy: It's also the Tegra chip that makes the Zune HD so appealing. Hardwarewise the Kin phones don't come close, and they will be much more expensive (around $400). We will have to wait and see about Windows Phone(WM7) and what models will come out, but right now ANdroid phones look much more appealing.

Now if they would launch a phone that is similair to the Zune HD in specs and price(obviously slightly more expensive) with WM7 that would be an appealing product.

it actually has more functionality than an ipod touch.

they only thing that is lacking is apps... but they will come once the win7 devices hit I expect.

I know it does, that's why I choose it over the Ipod Touch, but M$ has to offer much more to steal market share way...look at Google moves into the phone business...Droid phones are starting to cause serious problems for the Iphone, so I'm interested to see how strong a push M$ makes for Win Mo 7.  I'm not even going to get started on the tablet front...which M$ had already been diddling in for years...but just go beat to the punch with the Ipad in getting a modern version out (Newton was out 2 decades ago of course)

Really what I would like to see is combining of Xbox Live and Zune Pass and improving them both.

Would like a Platinum Family oriented Xbox Live/Zune Pass.

A base price and then like $10-$20 per additional family member.

Zune Subscription program and do something similiar with XBLA titles. Of course you need to keep the subscription to keep the XBLA titles. Get so many free movies per month.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

It's crazy that MS isn't matching Rhapsody's pricing. I't been years since I was a subscriber of Real's, so perhaps I'm missing something though. Either way I'm glad MS is working hard to stay competitive.

I've always said that the ZuneHD is a great bit of kit, but the lack of (many) apps makes the experience less than it should be. As a pure music player it is sweet though. But I can't fault people finding more all around value in the iPod Touch frankly. Apple really should get their shit together and offer some sort of subscription though.
