I would like to spend around $1,500ish.

My wants are basically...

to be able to play Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft, Diablo III and then to do my business work on it. I just want a good gaming laptop that can play Blizzard games without slowdown.


I do not want blu-ray (I watch amybe a few movies a year)
Does not need to be 1080p

I bought a Toshiba Qosmio for that much two years ago and I can still run all the lastest games. So I'd tell you to go for a Qosmio. The newer versions of my laptop have even more power for the money and the built in sounds is a great as well.

That's just under your price limit and should run anything you'd want to play.

Edit: You don't need something as extravagant erm...I'll look for something minus the Blu-Ray with a lower res screen. Here you go. It has slower processor, no blu-ray drive, and a less than 1080p (1680x945) display.

Well this is the one I bought. Got it for cheaper a while back though. Fastest computer I've ever had and runs games very well on highest settings. (Out of all the ones I've played on it so far)

Its around $1200 and its got a 17" screen, full sized keyboard and a mobility HD 5730 which should be fast enough for most tasks.

Edit: I heard it has a short battery life, really really short :(

^^ That one is very nice as well. I'm not sure about Asus (never had one before) but all the specs are very good from what I can see. I would say go for it.

The HD 5870 uses less power, is more forward compatible with the latest games as its DX11 and its currently the best mobile GPU out there.

is there a reason why you want laptop instead of desktop?

I mean, for most of the above laptops, it's almost the weight of a desktop. :P

I'm guessing mobility. I knew I would be moving semi frequently because of work. When ever I visit friends and family I can bring my laptop.
