3 weeks ago, I had a boot freeze (impossible to bypass) because of downloading a vid, which was solved by removing it from the queue through my PC. Before that, my 360 froze a whole of 10 times maybe in 2 years.

Now this week, the 360 started freezing pretty often... even freezing on the menu a couple times. Only long time thing I managed to do was put in a DVD and watch 3 episodes of Firefly... otherwise, the demos I tried just froze randomly.

Also I get disc read errors (unreadable) on a brand new ODST disc... solved by rebooting... but I got it again when I saved the game to leave...

Didn't try other games this week.

My place gets pretty warm when it's sunny (well 30°C) could this be due to heat? or is my 360 dying on me?

(it froze yesterday before I even launched a game... I went to check it and it was pretty hot... the vents were not obstucted (didn't check the inside... dust maybe?)).

if u have a HDD try clearing the cache..

apart from that your 360 might be showing its age from wear and tear

Sadly, these are they symptoms of an xbox that had RROD and was fixed (badly), or an xbox that is about to have RRoD.

The unreadabale disk problem is a mistery at this point...

well if your 360 is 2 years old and you bought it brand new and it does RRoD within the 3rd year, you still have a year to get it fixed free of charge by MS

Mine is one of those models that got taken in by MS then sold in a cheap bundle after repairs (I guess).

It really sucks if I get RROD, I barely used the thing :-p good thing there are slim rumors.

unreadable disk is because some dvd drives are weak. try pushing it in and holding it even after its closed.

overheating is uncommon with newer xbox models. make sure its ventilated though,  blow into all exault vents.
