Forums - General Discussion - Wear Glasses? Fix your eyes without surgery?

"And here we were just about to drop a few grand on laser surgery. Thank goodness we spotted the "Eye Power" on Dvice before getting on the table.

According to its Japanese distributor, this miracle device uses "ultrasonic technology" to fix near-sightedness and myopia (at least the physical kind, anyway). Just peer the offending orb into this thing for 10 minutes, and you can finally toss those Coke-bottle lenses."

Wow. I think I will wait  a few years for this to be perfected...

Sweet!

I refuse to believe this. Also, I didn't read the article. I think I might get LASIC with my school's health insurance paying for X percentage. I don't remember what it is, but they'll help a lot while I'm still here.

I stick with the glasses, doctors made a mistake once with my back, don't feel like a second mistake and becoming blind. Never be able to see again, never be able to game again... the HELL!!

Based on how this thing works I don't see how it could cause any harm unlike with laser eye surgery where one screw up would be really bad. I would like to see some facts on it getting results though because they don't seem to list any.

That's how I feel too. No matter how small the probability of a severe error is, the potential penalty is too big compared to wearing glasses/contact lenses. I'll keep my eyes as they are, thank you very much.

My friend figured out how to beat the risk factor: Go to the surgeon that all the other doctors go to have their eyes fixed.
