I have played most or all of these games on a non-360 platform -- at a cheaper price than on the 360, with better graphics, and with free online. I will continue pointing this out in every thread I ever see of this nature (i.e. any thread talking about 360 "exclusives") until you stop pretending these are exclusives because it makes you feel better in this console war. No, putting "console exclusive" doesn't make it better. If I said FFXIII was a "PS3 exclusive," you would bitch and moan, even if I reminded you that the PS3 is the only system called PS3 that has FFXIII. It's an obvious attempt to circumvent the very idea of an "exclusive" title. Not only can one play these on a different version, it is typically true that the 360 version is the inferior one by virtually any objective metric. |
The "console exclusive" label is actually part of an enforceable rule - you're not allowed to try to take away from it, since it's a correct labeling according to how it's outlined in the rules.

Okay. First, I really don't like appeals to technical rules. As an example to explain my point, consider someone who tells you that you are stupid, fat, and ugly. You tell that person to stop, and he says, "According to the US Constitution, I am legally allowed to say those things." Obviously, he's technically correct (assuming he doesn't repeat them ad nauseum, which might constitute verbal harassment), but if you ever have to fall back on the argument that your behavior is technically legal, you're probably being a complete jerk.
Just because you aren't a criminal (i.e. you aren't technically breaking any laws) doesn't mean you aren't obnoxious. The same basic principle would apply in these forums: technically legal, but kind of obnoxious nonetheless.
Second, and most importantly, the OP did not say console exclusives, he said "exclusives." In the actual title, it simply says, "exclusives." Which, under the technical rules, is bannable. So, even if we're going to be technical, it's still wrong.
But I'm not actually interested in getting the OP banned or anything. I didn't even want to make a technical argument in the first place. I just wanted to point out the absurdity of the original premise, and apparently that makes me rude.

but the OP never said console exclusives just "exclusives" if he said console exclusives there would be no problem but he didn't lol.

Another 360 thread ruined? Check. Anyone shocked? Hell no.

Stunning.
The important point here is that the topic operates off of the assumption of "console exclusives" - a term which, I will add, you derided in your intitial post in a rather prolonged way. It's not the point you make that would be considered bad behavior; it i the method by which you deliver this particular brand of derision.
My own list assuming console exclusivity, in no particular order:
Gears
Gears 2
Lost Oddysey
Crackdown
Dead Rising
Halo 3
Earth Defense Force 2017
Tales of Vesperia
I haven't played all that many console exclusives, I suppose.

"Console exclusive." A term which, I will add, is derisive in itself. It implicitly suggests that the PC "doesn't count," or something. In fact, I've even heard people explicitly state that the PC "doesn't count." Which is, of course, kind of annoying to PC Gamers who are actually playing all these games.
As such, my argument is that I did not invoke console wars: the entire premise of "PC doesn't count" invokes console wars by its very premise. Want me to elaborate on that? Sure: the idea behind the term "console exclusive" is "games which aren't on PS3." I mean, in theory, these games could be on the Wii, or DS, or PSP, but they rarely or never are. In reality, saying "console exclusive" is almost exactly equivalent to saying, "game [X] is on my HD home console but not on yours."
So I'd argue the entire thread --and the many like it, this certainly isn't the first time people have invoked the concept of "console exclusive" -- is a prop in the console war. And it's particularly annoying to someone like myself, who prefers the PC and the Wii (although those preferences are by no means absolute. LBP rocks, I love Afrika, and I think Braid plays better on the 360). I'm basically ignored on both sides, for being too casual/kiddy on one end, and too hardcore/nerdy on the other. Yeah, I'll admit that gets on my nerves. I'm not actually asking you to love the Wii and PC: I'm only asking that their existence be acknowledged, and not deliberately marginalized so that people can have a PS3 vs. 360 war because that's all you happen to personally care about. The original poster even openly acknowledged that this thread was created as a direct response to a similar PS3 thread.
Although I know you, personally, care about more than just those two platforms. I'm speaking generally here.

Halo 3 and Splinter Cell Conviction are really the only 360 exclusives I really liked. I didn't like Gears of War and I never really gave Mass Effect a fair chance.

Way to bring down the tone of the thread there Bodhesatva. Gz. |
I'm just happy to see him back!
1. Mass Effect 2
2. Left 4 Dead 2
3. Gears of War 2
4. Dead Rising
5. Halo: ODST (I picked this over 3 because of firefight and you get all the maps).
Alan Wake isn't on my list because it's okay, but not great.
