Through official channels the current sales quantity (which I can't share, so don't ask ) is considerably better. Not sure about vgchartz's methodology.

here is the link, from the mass effect board, and answered by a member of the team; http://masseffect.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=602247&forum=104&sp=60

I hope that helps :P

yea he says they are off......hmmm

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Didn't last month's NPD data actually show vgchartz was vastly overtracking 360 software and hardware by almost 30-50%?

NPD doesnt include canada so it wasnt that much off

also NPD said that vgchartz had undertracked the 360 the 2 months before so it all equals out

I have a feeling its undertracked too..I think it should of did 400k at least. But its 190k....ummm....anyway I haven't touched the game yet because I'm trying to finish Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Halo 3 single-player campaign.

I think the PSP and PS3 are being overtracked and the Wii to a far lesser extent. The 360 for whatever reason seems to be undertracked (maybe to make up for overtracking or something in the past?).

But your also a huge X360 fan. Coincidence? I think not.

i think maybe the numbers are right. An interview with i think lead designer or someone in charge of the Mass Effect production at bioware said himself he didnt see it bringing in huge sales numbers mainly because of the genre it is. RPGs arent exactly everyones cup of tea, and bioware has a tendency to make a slightly different type of RPG then the likes of Elder Scrolls or lets say Final Fantasy.

I also got to agree on burnout with xbox 360 games. The past few months theres just been too many games being released in such close proximity. Im personally out of money and out of time to be buying more games at the moment, haha.

WOwwwwwwwwwww
It is really good game
one of the best games that I ever played
there is nothing to do in the game unless walking
but I can't stop playing it !!
For game like that it should hit 4 million easly

I suspect it isn't understracked much...As stated above, I think it is just gaming overload. I've got too many games to play... I have Bioshock not finished yet, Halo 3 not finished yet, Eternal Sonata not finished yet... I took time out for super mario galaxy and haven't been back to the 360 for a couple of weeks. I also have some other games that I haven't even touched and there are more out there that I want.... I think Mass Effect has just gotten buried in the Holiday Software Bonanza... Hopefully it will have very, very solid legs... Maybe they would have done better to clean up a few of the common bugs in the application and release it right after the new year.... I plan to buy it soon, but I still want COD4, RE:UC, No More Heroes, MOH:H2, BW2, and several others... Too many games, not enough time...
