So I go to a neighbours house every week to help their little son to do his homework. Today he told me that at school, the teacher told them that they must not play Super Smash Bros Brawl because Mario fight against everyone and at the end he kills them all.

So, do you think Mario is the new violence videogames icon?

I guess the teacher was trying to draw on some character they would know and try to teach them a life lesson from that.
Of course we as adults know that is absolute rubbish, but the kids hopefully get the point, at the cost of muddying mario's waters.

Obviously not the same teacher from the old Sega commercials; she wanted Sonic to be more like that "nice boy" Mario.

Brawl is the only T-rated game my 7-year old gets to play on the Wii. Likewise, Melee was the only T-rated game on the GC.
The original Smash Bros was E-rated. So these are not bad games.

When I purchased a Family Guy Season box-set the current server did not mind.

Remember power does not remain with a teacher. If I was told this then I would pretend to agree and then intentionally play the game for longer.

why talk about something when she's so obviously ignorant on the subject? still, i don't really think she was TRYING to talk bad about mario, probably trying to warn about VG violence in general and just happened to think of mario

it's only natural that she would immediately think of mario when in the subject of video games, let's not be too harsh on the lady :p ...i assume she's a girl cuz guys are too cool to make THAT mistake ;)
