Forums - Sales - My question on 360 sales vs ps3 the past few weeks

When I first came to this site the main beef with the ps3 was it's price, that was always the firt gripe I read about the system. So now that the ps3 is at an afforable price is it possible that more people are just buying ps3s? I am not aware of a 360 shortage so if there is please forgive my ignorance and kindly tell me. I mean more people prefer a wii over both hd consoles, so is it hard to believe that an afforadable ps3 is the reason for it outselling the 360 ww and not slim rumor/ shortage? respectful replies please (to my comment and other users)

Sony has said the PS3 is still having shortages, while MS has said nothing about 360 shortages, although I do think stores are overstocked with 360s and some of them are having discounts on them.

So if anything PS3 should be selling more than it is now. 360 is still selling well, PS3 is just in higher demand.

the slim rumor isnt the problem, it could be the 360 hasn't had a killer app in a long time (alan wake kind of failed)

Actually, according to VGC, there are actually fewer 360's in stock than PS3s....

Thats according to VGC... I still think PS3 is undertrcked somehow, because in nearly every store around me they don't have more than 2 or 3 PS3's whereas I see roughly 10+ 360's in stock at every store, most of them are Arcade models however.

I have breezed through the gaming section of wal marts in my area (US mega retailer) and they had no ps3s in stock but plenty of 360s

Yeah I don't want to be the one to call for another adjustment or anything but it seems near impossible for there to be more PS3s on shelves than 360s, I can hardly find any PS3s where I live.

Also there was a link that had a Gamestop employee say PS3 is out of stock 80% of the time.

here it is http://ps3.ign.com/articles/109/1091397p1.html

Despite microsoft making huge strides with the 360 the playstation brand name is still stronger. So yes I believe that most people were just waiting for an affordable playstation before they bought one.

Thats funny...

1- Sony fans making those claims...*would be differnt if not for your post history*

In my state...Theres actully very few Ps3's..*I had to get one off ebay...cuz I didnt feel like driving 5 hrs to the nearest city that had 2-3 in stock**that was about 3 months ago*

But also...theres not many 360's...atm my city has 3 walmrts..best buy..target..3 eb games..sears....none of the eb stores have a new 360 in stock..but 2 ps3's...walmart has about 7 360's*all acrade* sears has none of either and same for bestbuy n target.

I think many are waiting on the 360 to see if a slim does indeed show up...and to see what Natal can do.
