Can someone tell me what the sales expectaions were for this game by the people overhyping it.
Remember they have to be the majority expectations because just using a few extreme examples of overestimation doesn't = overhype even on the internet.
I can find a few examples of low predictions and use that to show that the game recieved no hype.

I'm not sure why people feel AW was overhyped. Personally I felt it was underhyped and if anything got more coverage for negative reasons - dropping of PC version and the all the fuss around its resolution - than a lot of overhyping.
It's a shame 'cause I like it and Remedy put in so much effort but it actually seems to have been released at potentially a poor time and with insufficient marketing.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
1. Looks boring as hell, if you don't play it or seen it play.
2. Cover can be a turn-off (could have been better)
3. Halo Reach
4. Not being able to peak through peoples' windows and watch them undress or watch them sleep, with your flashlight, then break into their house to rape them. (Game is NOT creapy enough. Supposed to be a creapy game and it's not living up to expectations.)
5. Not enough EB/Gamestop employees pushing the game.. HATERS... u__u
A far less hyped multiplat game, RDR, came and bitch slapped it.
Slow sales? You know that it's others only right? Besides:
- it sold more than Uncharted did first week
- It was the best selling game in Others in the charts
And it's kind of typical for the genre i guess. Let's wait and see if it has any legs.
short, no-replay value and the hype didnt pay off.
If you don't know about the game, it just looks like your average survival horror stuff, with zombies you must shoot at night...
People probably felt Deja Vu about this game.
Plus, there was no multi and playing shooters in multi / coop is basically the only thing most 360 owners care about.
Red Dead Redemption took its spotlight and Mario coming 5 days after didn't help either. Also, I haven't seen any advertisement for it on TV.
I haven't bought it yet but will. Just a little backlogged right now. RDR looks more promising than I expected, so I'm getting that first (if there is something comperable to the cell phone in GTA IV in that game, then I'll only play it for about 2 hours and move on). I went back and played the demo of Heavy Rain and now I want to try that out as well. Couple that with the slightly lower than expected reviews of AW, and it's getting pushed back a bit. Still look forward to playing it, though.
