Sadly his ban means his posts are hidden but long story short he makes the argument that the two situations are similar. i.e. the PS3's trajectory is like the PS2's.

The best part is that he really stuck at it. He kept updating with the progress and arguing how well it fit his prediction.

SMG then? 5.35 apparently. Now? 8.64. To be fair, he doesn't deny it can reach 8m (just "hard to beat") and he refers to other people predicting 12m.

iSuppli: WTF?
This one is remarkable for the fact that it's a professional organization. In February 2008: "iSuppli: Wii To Lead Hardware Race In 2008, PS3 By 2011"
For those of you who remember, yes this is the one predicting negative numbers for the Wii.

Now here are some individual predictions by users:
The Wii's lifetime sells WILL NOT outsell the PS2's lifetime sales, or the PS3's for that matter. Quote me I dare you.
(In February 2008) [The PS3] will probably catch up [to the 360] sometime in the fall.
(In December 2007) The wii is uncertain I expect it to be last in 2008.
