Forums - Nintendo - My complaints with Mario Galaxy 2.

So if you don't want to hear a few minor-ish gripes about SMG2 don't read on.

OK if you continued to read then prepare to meet a character more annoying than Navi. Hey Listen!

Lubba

I can't find a picture but it's a big fat purple luma, trust me you'll know who it is when it gets in the way of your Mario goodness.

That's my complaint. Annoying, action stopping, boring, nonsensical, characters that waste your time. Press A to speak to character, press A another 4 times while they tell you some useless information that you can't skip. Press A once more to acknowledge that you heard a line that must have sounded funnier at the time of writing (Har! Har!). Imagine Rosalina stopping you to say some meaningless crap after every level in Galaxy 1, not just every level but every star. Now.......now you can get back to playing the god damn awesomeness that is Mario Galaxy 2.

It's not just Lubba, it's there frequently. Talk to a Luma and it'll tell you all about how hungry it is after pressing A four times then you find out you're 12 starbits short. Go listen to Toads urgent message, pressing A four times to find out you've been sent the fantastic gift of 50 starbits.

Everytime you finish a level you're taken back for a little convo with Lubba. Get out of my god damn way with your story cutscene nonsense!!!!

I might sound like I'm being overly harsh. Let me be clear that this is a 10/10 game that should put to shame any 3rd party that has the cheek to charge the same price as this game.

The game isn't ruined. It barely scratches it overall. It's a bigger/as big a leap forward than SMB 1 to  3  but ....... why? Why do they have to put their story text bubble cutscene crap in my game? It tarnishes 3D Mario perfection.

Whatever Nintendo are trying to do with the non-game part of their games doesn't work. It would be tolerable if a text bubble could pop up by hovering over with the pointer instead of having to engage in conversation which spoils the pace of the game. It puts people off and I can't help thinking that some of the greatest platforming ideas ever created should have been put in a 2d Mario instead so they could be fully apreciated.

In closing, Nintendo should take the original Galaxy off the shelves because it's been completely outdone by Galaxy 2. No point in buying the original anymore. This is the most happy I've been with a sequel for a long time (excl. SMB 18 yr break) but it falls down a little where it doesnt need to. Too many cooks and all that. It's a 10/10 but not a 100/100. The only thing they have to do for a 100/100 is .........

KILL THE INTERUPTIONS!

>_> How dare you not give this a perfect 100! (puts tomato in hand) .... (gets ready to throw) .... (pauses) .... (thinks for a second) .... (gets ready to throw again ) .... (pauses a second time) ... (ponders some more) ...

... Hmmmm, perhaps I'll throw this after I play the game  .

.... ( eats tomato )

10/10=100/100

If you have complaints against it you probably mean to give it a 9.99/10 which translates to 99.99/100

I refuse to hear anything bad about this game!

Although, I didn't mind navi, so I don't think Lubba will get in my nerves.

It's fun to joke about navi, though.

Actually 9.99/10 = 99.90/100.

I'll give it 98.95/100 for a sequel. Let's round it up to 10/10 ;)

Navi is the only one I would allow to interupt me from playing my game, I must of pumped 10000 bullets into Cortana for interupting me, I assume it I will feel the same with Lubba.

I'm only up to World 4 so I'm still hoping for a motion plus enabled minigame where I get to beat the shit out of Lubba and anybody else who wastes my time.

ya he dos look pretty annoying

I don't see any of these interruptions, I've not seen you been forced to talk to Lubba after every level.

The hungry lumas tell you how many starbits they need on the world map before you let them on your ship..

Nor do you need to go to your mailbox AFAIK
