Yeah they did what Call of Juarez couldn't do make a great western game.

Call of Juarez was great for it's time.

Ok, I'm liking it a little less now that I've got to Armadillo. The horse riding is fine, the gunplay is a little shallow and generic though. I'm digging the main character, he kinda sounds flat though, like Bill Paxton.

The story so far seems a tad predictable. Also, I think I've encountered a bug(the game did freeze on me, but that's not what I'm talking about). I did the "question mark" subquest for the woman outside the sheriffs office, tracked down the "clue" and the game said something about "the story isn't over yet" so I went back to where she was before and she was gone, wtf?

Also, the skyline graphics are some of the most beautiful I've seen in a game.

I started at a 9.5/10, it's dropped down to an 8.5 right now(after the freeze) but I think it'll pick back up.

Just play on and you will find out why..

RDR was boring for the first two hours...herde guiding is not really a fun thing to do but how more you progress through the story how more side objecties you can do.

I am really enjoying this game, but always been a fan of open world games.

GTA IV was great. Those who were complaining were either :

- expecting something à la San Andreas
- disappointed by GTA going multiplat
- expecting the unexpectable
- spitting at the hype itself

Red Dead is almost a follow-up to GTAIV's concept (huge story-telling instead of knock yourself out San Andreas possibilities) and with almost no hype in comparison.

And you know what ? It's still getting near perfect scores across the board !

With Red Dead Redemption being both similar to GTAIV and successful, Rockstar is saying "haters might have been right about the hype, but for the rest, haters can go... themselves"

I agree completely.

Rockstar = NO.1

yeah rockstar is number 1 again! now get me the next GTA!! lol

The side quest are MUCH MUCH better than in GTA IV. The stories are longer and well told.

I know this one side quest in Armadillo. The ending of it is great.

I didn't think GTA4 was bad at all but yeah Red Dead is really good. I should start playing it more. I only have like 2 hours on it so far.

Didn't like GTA IV at all but I am pretty much interested in Red Dead Redemption.
