scottie said: I love people that for some bizarre reason claim that Nintendo had a bad E3 2009
NSMB, SMG2, Golden Sun, Metroid: Other M were all announced, as was Wii Vitality Sensor and Wii Fit Plus.
A lot of games received a bunch of new detail.
how the hell can the announcement of 4 huge, heavily hyped core games be embarresing? And from a sales perspective?
Nintendo's E3 2009 was the best of all time. OF ALL TIME! :P
JK, it was pretty damn good though |
Nintendo 2009, was alright their were several good titles. However it was definatly the weakest of the three shows and most definatly border line embarrasing. So much time went into the other titles rather then Nintendo focusing that time on their bigger games.
You mention Vitality Sensor, what was shown? Nothing just the controller no games not even a single screenshot. Infact Nintendo barely even told us what the thing is capable of doing. While Microsoft unvieled Natal and Sony Move, Nintendo's Vitality sensor took up about 5-10 minutes of the show with absolutely nothing concrete to show us.
Golden Sun, during the conferance it was briefly shown like what 5-seconds. On the show floor Nintendo claimed the title was availible for play but the demo only lasted a measly 30 seconds. Which is really embarassing for a demo especially of a title as big as GoldenSun.
NSMBW, yes this part of the show was pretty good but it only counted for about ten minutes of the whole show. While Sony and Microsoft showed off several games with live demostrations.
Metroid and Galaxy2 were both shown but again it took up maybe 2-5 minutes of the show. These definatly blew the audience away but aren't enough to classify the Nintendo conferance as a contender against the other two shows.
In the end their was alot about the casual games on DS and Wii. Their was alot of filler and talk of market share etc...etc... the show itself wasn't that great except for the 15-minutes or so of actual new content and live demonstrations. Out of a nearly hour long conferance that isn't all that great. Sony and Microsoft both showed off far more new content and their shows were far superior in almost every way.
The vitality sensor, Golden Sun and all the Imagine titles and other DS shovel ware shown during the conferance can't be seen as anything but embarrasing!
